1. Went fishing on the Gunnison River,Co with my friend Chet that has lung cancer. He’s the one that caught his biggest Largemouth in Colorado on one of my posts two ...more months ago! They found out recently that he has lymph node cancer now! He’s pretty resilient so I’m praying he’ll make it through! Well back to the Fishing he ended up catching his largest Bow on this section a 19 1/4” chunk!! He had a great day with some really quality Bows and Browns caught mostly on a 1/8 oz Crappie Jig!

      Nice one Bryan

*and I have been catching a lot more healthy Bows. We’re almost catching as many Bows as Browns! A few years ago you were lucky to catch 1 Bow on each trip!
    3. Bryan Harper 0
Morris-The Wildlife has been working to get the Bows back to what they once were in the Gunnison River since whirling disease almost wiped them out! This year my ...more friends have been a lot more really healthy Bows

I had my line break ...more on a hookset a little over an before this one! Line is starting to wear on that spool but caught the biggin on the same spool after cutting some braid off.
    6. Nice Bryan!! Jumbo 👍👍

  4. With the temps in the upper 90’s,low water, and shallow weedy shoreline the bite was really tough from shore! I lost a nice 4lb Largie a few feet from me because ...more I tried to lift it up over a hump of weeds instead of getting my feet wet! What a bonehead move! I then preceded to only land a few fish walking the shoreline so I decided to go up to the Dam where I landed this nice 18” 3 1/2 + lb Largie on a 1/4 oz Minnow Head Jig with a Zoom Fat Albert Grub!

    1. It's crazy how many 10-13' Gators are in the Marsh
    2. You got it Morris! No feet getting wet where we were! Even with backup! 😉
    3. Bryan Harper 0
Thx guys! Morris- If you did that you might have to learn to swim like a fish to get around!
    4. that's a slob right there!
    5. Nice bass Bryan! We don't go in after them down here . To many big Pond Lizards. Right Robert?
    6. Jimbo Harwood 0
      Nice jumbo Bryan!!
    7. Right on Bryan! Nice bass! 👍👍👍👍

  5. With the temps pushing the upper 90’s I opted to go Trout Fishing over Bass fishing! I ventured into the Black Canyon where the temps where 10-15 degrees cooler! ...more I ended up landing 28 Trout but 10 of them where really small! The Bows are starting to get bigger and almost equal to the Browns in numbers. The best fish was this beautiful Bow which was a lot fatter than the picture shows because of the angle in which the pic was taken! A Rapala Countdown was the best Bow producer towards the evening! C & R always!

    1. Bryan Harper 0
Thx guys! The Bows I’ve been catching here are so vividly colored!
    2. Chad Jaco 0
      Go Rapala!!!

  6. Despite an unusually slow day on the water I hooked this 19” 4 lb Largemouth on a 130 Whopper Plopper! I was rolling it over a weed bed and as it went over a drop ...more off channel she nailed it! She got her entire body out of the water trying to throw the hooks! She had a front and back hook in her so she wasn’t coming off! Definitely made up for a slow day!

    1. Bryan Harper 0
      Thx Ken! Jimbo🎣
    2. Jimbo Harwood 0
Thanks Bryan, 👍 guna have to.. so i can post it.. 😂
    3. Kenneth Olivo 0
      Nice fish and coool background
    4. Bryan Harper 0
Jimbo- You’ll get em! Just keep pitchin’ around and over the submerged weed beds that are just below the surface!
    5. Bryan Harper 0
Robert- Definitely love the Plopper! I haven’t caught a bunch on it but I have caught a couple of 4+lbers
    6. Bryan Harper 0
Thx guys! Chris-I’ll trade you,we have some lakes that have Tiger Musky but I still haven’t caught one of those on anything! I did have one follow a square bill.
    7. Jimbo Harwood 0
lmao.. ive never caught ANYTHING ON THEM... maybe the bass here just dont like em.. 😁
    8. still never caught anything but musky on my ploppers hahaha

  7. Most fish were caught on a Dynamic J-Spec Firecraw color Jerkbait but the best fish was caught on a Rapala Countdown in the Hot Mustard Muddler pattern!

    1. Bryan Harper 0
      Thx Ken! 🍻
    2. Kenneth Olivo 0
      Nice Bryan!
    3. Bryan Harper 0
Ed-I catch bigger Trout on Marabou Hair Jigs on certain rivers but the Jerkbait is my favorite way to catch them!
    4. Bryan Harper 0
John- 👍I’ve been getting better numbers in this section lately
    5. Bryan Harper 0
Robert-Thx! No,but I did see a Momma and her two cubs the prior trip here. I didn’t get a pic though!
    6. Bryan Harper 0
Erich- I catch a lot of my river trout on a #5 or #7 Countdown either using it like a Jerkbait or Crankbait with 8-10# Braid to fluorocarbon leader
    7. Edward Payne 0
Pluggin Trout!!! Gotta love it! Great fish and cool Bear man!!! Be safe!!
    8. john stimson 0

  8. I fished with a friend today on the Gunnison River and he showed me a new spot where I preceded to land my first two Lake Trout(biggest one was 24 1/2” which is ...more a smaller one)! I did however lose a bigger one close to shore (approx. 7+ lber)! I ended up landing 16 mostly Browns all on Jerkbaits which also included a nice fat 18” Brown! This is below Blue Mesa Res in Colorado where the state record Laker is 50 + lbs! We did have one follow to within 10 ft of shore in slack water that was in the 20-30lb range! I don’t have a boat so hopefully someday I’ll get out with someone and try for a monster on the Reservoir!

    1. Bryan Harper 0
      Thx John
    2. john stimson 0
      Nice catch ,
    3. Bryan Harper 0
Thx guys! Hope to land the big one in the future! That canyon is spectacular Jimbo!

    6. awesome! congrats
    7. Noah Shapiro 0
      Oh cool
    8. Bryan Harper 0
Thx guys! Noah look at Colorado Fishing Atlas on the internet.Zoom in on Blue Mesa Res (west of Gunnison,Co) and select the star, then hit right arrow on the pop ...more up and scroll down to see species list then go west to the next circle and do the same(that’s Morrow Point Res) That is considered the beginning of the lower Gunnison River that has three sections!
    9. Noah Shapiro 0
Nice Bryan never caught a laker out of a river before
    10. Edward Payne 0
      Congrats on your first dude!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  9. I fished the Gunnison River in Western Colorado with blazing temps in 80-90+ degree range today! I ended up landing 39 Trout mostly on 2 3/4”-3” Jerkbaits! All ...more Browns except for one Rainbow which was the last and biggest fish of the day! No matter what the temps are this River produces pretty much year round!

    1. Bryan Harper 0
Thx guys! The Browns are so aggressive so the Jerkbait is the perfect lure! But when you can get a nice Bow to slam one and go aerial then the fight is on!
    2. Edward Payne 0
      Crazy action!!!👍🏻

Your making it sound simple good work,

  10. After waking up to hear of the passing of my Uncle in Georgia whom was batting mesothelioma and was really struggling to breath! I went out to fish for some Largemouth ...more with my friend Chet whom is battling Lung Cancer! He preceded to catch his biggest Colorado Largemouth around 6 lbs on a Weighted Tube! Then within an hour I landed a 4 lber on a 5” Senko! So balancing the emotions with the loss of my Uncle and my friend battling cancer it took a turn for a somewhat positive ending!

    1. Bryan Harper 0
Ken-I’m in the far west of Colorado where high desert meets the Mountains! Our state is pretty much all about the Trout but there is a few places with some quality ...more Bass up to 8+ lbs! It’s just finding & catching the few 8+lbers i
