1. Spin fishermen looking for a chance to catch bigger Trout like fly fisherman especially in Rivers should try Marabou Hair Jigs. Here’s a few I recently tied. The Black/Olive ...more has landed me my biggest Bows 6-9 lbs and the Black/Golden Brown(Orange) is my best producer numbers wise on Browns,Cutts, andBows up to 4 1/2 lbs! The Jig almost always gets the big Trout of the day!

    1. Thx Erich! A friend of mine pushed me to keep using the Jigs and in the second year of using them I had my best Trout fishing year to date! ...more Chris I know that when there is a big hatch going on here the Jerkbait Fishing is effected in a big way on the cooler days(winter & late fall) In smaller rivers the hair jig is really effective especially in the cooler months or a match the hatch scenario in summer with good flows.
    2. Christopher Try streamers also they always bite. Also their is nothing to small I fish overgrown areas with 1-2cfs on a fly rod. Hint try to learn the bow and arrow ...more cast. So try it Christophe
    3. In NJ spin fishing with jigs and jerkbaits almost always out performs fly fishing (my guess is because we don't get great bug hatches most of the time plus a ...more lot of our best rivers are small...too small for effective fly fishing imo with too many over handing branches etc.) one of the reasons I don't fly fish here much. Either way, those jigs would def be in my ultralight spin arsenal!
    4. *swinging rod tip back to 10 o’clock

The action is a real blast I agree. Sometimes my fly options are null because of tag elders (Michigan fly fishers nightmare ) so I go ultra light in super tight ...more holes where the monsters lie :) appreciate the response Bryan, love your catches. Impressive
    6. Erich-I hop them swinging the rod tip at 10 o clock in rivers and mostly vertically in lakes. Noah! Lol! I love the action especially getting nailed ...more on a sweeping action pull
    7. Or you could just fly fish lol
    8. Erich Senft 0
You just normal retrieve that ?
