    Congratulations to my best friend Eric who caught his first and the only walleye I have ever seen in CT. I know they do exist here, but I was even more surprised ...more as we were fishing a river system for schooling stripers. Worse yet, in my excitement to land the fish I didn’t realize these suckers have teeth and I tried initially to lip it because I forgot my net and grippers. The resulting gash on the middle of my thumb resulted in me bleeding into my canoe and on my phone while trying to take this picture. Lesson learned, I really didn’t know much about this did not know much about this fish and bass tunnel vision doesn’t help, lol.

      Nice catch! In 1986 I had been catching hundreds of bass and then caught a 19” brown trout with them. I lipped it because of bass on the brain. Same result blood ...more everywhere.☹️

    First whatever this is for me, guide did not know translation but it translates to “angry old lady” or something like that in spanish. Guide said this is the best ...more eating fish in Lake Gatun and locals typically spear them so rare to catch on a lure.

I am a Veteran and PE/Health Teacher. In addition to my regular duties, I teach kids fishing and pond exploration at the private special education ...more school in which I work using all my own equipment. I recently started a YouTube channel called Canoe Fishing Connecticut where I fish only Canoe, Kayak, or Trolling motor accessible waters in and around CT. In each 20-25 minute episode I will tell you what I use, how I use it, and of course where I am fishing. This is really just a fun way to get out with my boys as they like YouTube and tech more than actual fishing. They will be filming.
