  3. I checked the weather forecast for today, yesterday afternoon and saw ideal conditions for trolling my Homemade Flatwing Flies. 2 mph winds and 40 degrees which ...more it never got above 34. water temperature was 38 degrees. The day started slowly until I hit the South shore where I usually have good luck. I had 1 hit on the 5 foot rod, a short strike. 5 more minutes into the troll I caught this 19 inch Landlocked Salmon. At first I thought it was a Brown Trout, after further research I am positive it's a Salmon. A female at that. I hooked one more after that and lost it due to being out of practice and trying to clear the other rod.

    1. I think maybe the RVTA may have stocked them. Just like the Tiger trout they put in there and Goldens. Every year they stock it with some surprises. Or maybe someone ...more caught it at MCR and brought it down to RV.
    2. NJ Squatch 0
Well that is a surprise catch for that place. Very nice.
    3. yeah i thought brown too, either way, sweet catch! especially for february!
    4. David Velez 0
nice catch. looks to me like the jaw extends past the eye making it a Brown trout
    5. What is up with the weight? I entered 3 lbs. 4 oz.

  4. I first tried Spruce Run Reservoir because my cousin Mark still hasn't caught a Hybrid Striped Bass. Nothing there. We went to Round Valley Reservoir for 2 hours ...more and weren't disappointed. We landed a 17 inch Rainbow, an 18 inch Laker and my first ever Tiger Trout. Just shy of 16 inches he was released back to grow bigger.

  6. Please to all my fishing buddies and friends. I am begging for help. My younger brother had his 2nd stroke. He can not walk can not talk. I took 4 days off from ...more my busy schedule to drive to Florida and build him a ramp so he can get in and out of his house. His wife only makes 10 bucks an hour. They're about to be homeless because disability is taking their sweet role time. My brother has worked his butt of all of his life. Never used alcohol, drugs or even cigarettes. Diabetes is killing him slowly. So please is you could spare $10 or $20, we would appreciate it. If you can afford more that's even better. I put my bills aside and don't care about my credit score to build his ramp.

  7. I'm thinking this is caused by all of the fertilizers and pesticides used by the residents and farmers throughout our state. It's pretty sad what we are ...more doing to our lakes and waterways. Both fresh and salt.

Blue/Green Toxic Algae with a Camera

    1. Chad M 0
thats too bad...you would think after it being on the news they would at least make an attempt.
    2. They are well aware about it Chad. But do nothing about it. It was all over the news.
    3. Chad M 0
show that picture to your local epa or Dnr official. it is toxic to some specific wildlife, such as frogs . it can contaminate drinking water and is also harmful ...more to pets, in particular to dogs . they’re steps that can be put in place to reduce this and help kill the algae. it also uses up a great deal of the oxygen in the water. just a thought.
    4. Stupid people like green lawns. I think the Vegans are to blame.
    5. Scott Sorrell 0
I've seen some blue/green algae, but that s**t looks bad...never seen it like that before.

  9. A day off from work is a good day to go fishing. Landed over 50 of these guys from 12 to 15 inches. The toxic blue/green algae seems to have put a damper on the ...more fish too.

    4. Derek Stitt 0
That's awesome Arthur!! what a giant!
    5. The hardest part was not setting the hook. Especially for Tim, he lost quite a few. He did catch a nice Snakehead though it got off as we were trying to get the ...more hook out
    6. I need to try some Florida bass fishing or California
    7. Robert Coleman 0
Yeah, there's nothing to it Arty! You just throw it out there and let it sit till the "Big Girl" eats it,.... right???πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜³ There is soooooooooo ...more much more to it than that, as you saw! Morris also taught me new ways to fish the live bait too bud! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»
    8. It is Dennis, I thought I knew everything about live bait fish. Captain Morris taught myself and my son a few things and different techniques with live bait.
    9. Let them try with artificial. They won’t have the success rate as with live bait. My old personal best was 8 lbs 9 oz caught in NJ on a fly I tied myself. It was ...more trolled using a Deckarm which was invented by a good friend of mine.
