1. Details: Red Horse Sucker

Saw this guy sitting up near the bank, only about 6" long. Ran my worm next to him and he swam off. That white patch on his tail is some sort of wound and he ...more had a real hard time swimming in the current. Hope he makes it to take my worm next year.

  2. Details: Red Horse Sucker

At a spot on the Baraboo River. I spent over an hour trying to get this guy! I would feel him tugging on the worm but he was never on the line when I went to set ...more the hook, he got away with 4 worms before I finally got him. Didn't think I had him when I finally did though cause he had no fight in him. Also caught a couple of small blue gills too.

Be doing something fun while I was hot and miserable. Amazing how much less hot you can feel with a pole in hand and a line in the water!
    2. Bruce Sachtleben 0
It was pretty hot today too, 91 with high humidity and no breeze. Up visiting the in-laws for the weekend (no A-C either) , told my brother-in-law if I was gonna ...more be hot and miserable I might as well

  3. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Berkeley power lizard - Texas rigged

Opening day! First fish of the year right there. The bite was very slow. Only 2 bass today, the first (about 1 to 1.5 lbs) on the way out, about 100 feet from the ...more launch. The second (about 2.5 lbs) on the way back, about 30 feet from the launch. I should have just hung out there! Hopefully as the water warms up over the next few weeks the bite will too.

  4. Details: Other Freshwater with a Paper clips

Setting up for the spring opener (8 days to go!) and got tired of hooks getting tangled in the tackle box. Took some paper clips and rebent the inner loop to form ...more a clasp and now I can grab the hook I want without one grabbing me!

      That

You should make Taft a product
    3. gkendus 0
Going to have to try that. Probably would work well with safety pins also

Gonna have to borrow your idea. Thanks

  5. Details: Other Freshwater with a $$ Gander Mountain gift card $$

Had a Gander Mountain gift card dying to be spent! Picked up a GSX Tournament series combo, MH with a smooth real and nice balance. Got it on sale, normally $80 ...more and I got it for $50. Looking for recommendations on a good braid to spool it with for pulling bass out of heavy cover and for targeting pike and maybe even a few cats. All my other reels are spooled with trilene. Time to step it up!

      Good reel

nice set up. I've had two gander mountain advantage series bait cast rods that I adore. Gander makes good strong high quality rods
    3. MusicCityBass 0
@WormDrowner i buy a good bit of my rods from a locally owned bait & tackle store and the staff there is used to me doing that with the rods by now so I don't ...more get many looks from them anymore lol
    4. Bruce Sachtleben 0
@KickingBass Spiderwire is high on my list.
    5. Bruce Sachtleben 0
The staff was certainly keeping an eye on me as I was walking around flexing all their rods testing the backbone and tip. Too many guys just pick them up and buy ...more 'em I guess.
    6. Bruce Sachtleben 0
@MusicCityBass I haven't used GSX before but it just felt right when I was playing with it in the store. Reel was very smooth, rod has a great backbone but still ...more had a soft tip. Can't wait for spring!
    7. KickingBass 0
I like spiderwire. It doesn't screw up your guides like some others do and it's great for pulling them out of heavy cover

Looks good. Never used one but they look nice

  6. Walleye with a Vibrations Lures Echotail in Firetiger

  7. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Yum F2 Mighty Bug - junebug color - on a 1/4 oz jig

My fishing partner was throwing a brush hog across the lilly pads when I decided to punch through to see who was hanging out below. When he saw my set-up his response ...more was to laugh and say "good luck with that." Yea, whose laughing now?

  8. Details: Walleye with a Vibrations Tackle Echotail in fire-tiger pattern

Great day on the Yahara River. Found a new favorite secret spot. Another first for me, caught this 18" walleye just a few minutes after catching a PB on a 36" ...more pike. The pike was an awesome fighter on medium tackle, I had to play him pretty hard so I left him in the water and removed the hook and released him as quick as I could. Heading back there tomorrow so hopefully I'll have more good luck!

  9. Details: Northern Pike with a Booyah pond magic spinner

Went to the catfish hole after dinner. Had a rod out for cats (no luck there) and was throwing the spinner when this little guy hit. About 16" long and a scrappy ...more little fighter. I've had several pike hit my lures or follow them in, this is the first one that I can say I landed. Always love catching something new. Cold front came through yesterday so temp was around 50 about 40 min. before sunset.

  10. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Booyah pond magic spinner - temp mid 70's light fog and totally overcast

We had thunderstorms forecasted but there was nothing on radar so I headed to to the honey hole on the Yahara River. The bite was slow but the ones that hit were ...more real fighters, got this girl on the 3rd cast. I started seeing fry breaking the surface so I switched to a Zara Puppy and had some awesome top water hits (1st catch was best fish though). Game was over though when the thunder rolled in...
