1. 6 pound fluke caught in the skinny waters of Shinnecock Bay on board the Shinnecock Star head boat Father's Day weekend. Just getting out fishing with my little ...more guy is a treat on its own, having him hook and land the pool winner on his own is top of my fishing memories to date now. We worked the edges of the channel with a high low rig consisting of two .75 oz bucktails tipped with gulp mullett and squid. And yes that's the same kid from my profile pic, 6 yrs later!

  2. Couple of little nips at 1/2 oz bucktails with curly tails at the lip of the surf the past few weeks and finally got a few to commit this past sunday. Huge pods ...more of bunker have been making for epic striper fishing for the boat guys from Moriches Inlet to Shinnecock. The large migrating fish are right on schedule moving to Montauk point for the June Full Moon! Hit me up if anyone needs info on how or where to chase them down by beach or boat. (Ron Arra 11' Lamiglas, Van Staal 250, 30lb Power Pro with uni to uni connetion to 50lb leader and tactical angler clip. Fish pictured taken on 1.5 oz bucktail with fat cow jig strip, got another on .5 oz bucktail and white curly tail, and a 3rd on 2 oz kastmaster) All the catches still swimming to fight another day.

  3. Fish stacked up on west wall of a man made Island that was once a quarantine for immigrants arriving at Ellis Island. Now it's home to thousands of cormorants ...more and gulls stealing bait and living off scraps left behind by the fish. Some Migrators stop in at this year round resident fish hangout. When they're hungry from their trip they smash any hint of wounded bait.
