1. Got out with fellow collegiate fisherman Bryce Wegman and Justin Schick to Newton Lake on Monday. Bryce is the President of the Illinois State University Lunker ...more Junkies and Justin is the President of the Illinois Central College bass fishing team.

It was great to spend a day in the boat with these guys, instead of fishing against them. These two can catch 'em! We grinded all day through tough conditions and luckily the big ones turned on for the evening bite.

Newton is just a little power plant lake in Central Illinois, but this trip got me psyched for the 2015 fishing season. Going to be logging a bunch of hours on Fishidy maps in the coming days. Who else is ready for Spring?

Awesome picture, guys! Sounds like you had a lot of fun! As for spring, I have to say I am very much enjoying winter right now and have no problem waiting. LOL!
  2. Nice one Luke, catch a big one for me, boat been down since 3-15-2014. Hope to get back on the water the first of year.

Good looking bunch of fish, what lure were u using.
  3. Got lucky and had the ice thaw off (mostly) my local honey-hole last weekend in central Illinois. This was the only bite I had all morning (Sunday, November 30th) ...more but it any bass in 36 degree water is a good bass! Good to get out and make some casts anyway...

  4. Nice Bass Luke !! Where were you at when you caught 'em? Seen a few of your post from Lake St.Clair, you from that area. Just north of me on western Lake Erie. ...more Yeah winter is here for us it's 21 degrees W/C of 5 deg.and got about 3 " of snow overnight, worst part is the endless grey dull days, sure you know what I mean. Tim

Hey Luke yeah all and all it was a good year for fishing, heck any day fishing is a great day. I mean come on, even being on disability was a good year. Sorry for ...more the assumption that you lived by lake st Clair, so how was the fishing in Central Illinios this year? I have had several boats over the years but just got my first Bass boat a year ago. I always wanted one but wasn't able to afford one, its not new but is in great shape and absolutely flies on the water. Yeah with the weather so nasty I got all winter to go over my equipment and tackle and get ready for next season, so do you fish many Tournaments?
    2. Luke Stoner 0
Tim - I was actually at a little 150 acre lake, Lake Arlan, in my hometown of Pekin, Illinois. I was up in the St. Clair area earlier this fall for a tournament, ...more I actually live in Central Illinois currently. Hate to hear that this brutal winter weather has settled in for you, too. But I guess that means it's about time for hunting / ice fishing! Hopefully fishing has been good for you as of late. Tight lines, Luke.

  7. It's too beautiful to not be fishing...Done with class early and I'm gonna head to Clinton for a few hours. Anybody been hammering 'em out there?

I'll ...more let you know how it goes a little later!

  8. Caught this dude pond hoping in the middle of Champaign a couple days ago. Gotta love the look on people's faces when you catch a big fish out of a little pond!

    1. Rich Pardy 0
The only problem is those people will be fishing in that spot next time you go there :) Awesome bass.
