1. Details: Gulf Flounder with a 1/4 ounce Jig head with a 3" mullet colored gulp shrimp

Fishing today with @marcsmanben in a shallow flat by some marsh where we caught 5 flounder and a mangrove. This was mid morning with the sun fully out on an incoming ...more tide. Earlier in the morning around 8:00 I threw my hull on the edge of a submerged sandbar and a 34" snook sucked in my bait. He jumped about 6 times. 3 were right by my kayak and then came off with half his body in the net

St croix best way to go
    3. Jacob DeRamus 0
Falcon had great rod for only 70-80$
    4. coltsjesse 0
Yeah @matt_brockman is right and also the a lot of the flats blues break easy
    5. j_reyes 0
      flats blue Wright & McGill
    6. Jake Jake 0
st croix avid series is a great stick. ive got 3
    7. Matt Matt 0
Guide series inshore tournament rod. It's a great rod for topwater but I would say put a 4000 on it.
    8. Matt Matt 0
I am going to agree with @coltsjesse I tried one of those out and it was maybe a $60 rod and corroded easily even tho I washed it after every time in saltwater. ...more I would suggest the gander mountain
    9. coltsjesse 0
Dont get a flats blue get a good rod like a calico jack, redbone, st croix, or star rod
    10. Christiank 0
Shimano Convergence is what I have paired with my stradic and works great!!
    11. eastonsutley 0
      All star rods!
    12. walkermaze 0
Ya I can agree with that @QandQ_fishing_team
    13. corey cavanagh 0
The best thing to do is take your rod to the shop and try it on different rods to get a feel how it balances out. The balance of a combo is a much bigger deal than ...more the overall combo weight
    14. corey cavanagh 0
Anytime. I've had almost every rod and reel on the market at one time or another so I know what works best for me but everyone's different.
    15. walkermaze 0
Thanks! I'll do more research on both of them! @QandQ_fishing_team
    16. corey cavanagh 0
They both have a no questions asked return policy if u break them
    17. corey cavanagh 0
Shimano teramar is a good heavier rod. It's not as finesse as some others but has alot more power. Also shimano compre inshore rod. It's lighter and more ...more sensitive than the teramar but not as tuff
    18. walkermaze 0
I was thinking the same thing @QandQ_fishing_team and anything that's 120 and under
    19. corey cavanagh 0
And what price range are u looking at for the rod?
    20. corey cavanagh 0
Go with the 5000. Both 5000 and 4000 share the exact same body. The only difference is the 5000 comes with a much nicer handle and more line capacity
    21. Peyton Dalatri 0
      4000
    22. walkermaze 0
      Ok thanks! @theyakfisher 5000 or 4000 @QandQ_fishing_team

    24. corey cavanagh 0
What size stradic r u getting?
    25. Peyton Dalatri 0
I have used spooks and skitter walks im sure it could handle it
    26. walkermaze 0
I've been looking at those for a while. They look really nice. Have you ever tried a big top water on it and does it walk the dog fine?
    27. Peyton Dalatri 0
7"6 flats blue rod best rod i have ever used for salt water you can get what ever size but i have 2 7"6 and i love them

    6. fishkrzy 0
Stradic ci4+. I use them in salt they are fine. 4000 series
    7. Matt Matt 0
I have a Saharah and nothing against it but I also have a stradic fj and I'm upgrading all my saltwater reels to fj, ci4, and ci4+.
    8. Jake Jake 0
      no doubt about the stradic
    9. eastonsutley 0
Stradic is supper smooth not sure what the salt would do to it though.
    10. walkermaze 0
Thank all you guys! Your advice will be used!
    11. nillgen99 0
I have a tranx and love it
    12. coltsjesse 0
The ci4 is a good saltwater reel
    13. Christian Holyoak 0
Stradic. Best of the option you gave, but it had better be for the $200.
    14. corey cavanagh 0
Can't go wrong with shimano. For saltwater I would recommend stradic, saros, or Spheros
    15. Will Engle 0
I have the Sahara. I have no complaints, great reel for the price.
    16. southfloridainshore 0
People say that the sabalos reel is good. If you want to spend $70-100 on a spinning reel i suggest that one
    17. Peyton Dalatri 0
      Stradic
    18. Christiank 0
Shimano Stradic. I use it as a heavier spinning real for freshwater and it works great!!

  10. Details: Red (redfish) Drum with a live blue crab

This is a monster red my cousins friend caught while try were fishing. Caught him on a live blue crab on the bottom. Does anyone know any good lures for night fishing ...more feel water for reds?

    1. james baylie 0
I use yo zuri shrimp for trout, snook, small tarpon, and dum at night. But make sure to get the luminescent one so it glows.

About

I love fishing and I catch huge bass an some nice reds, trout and snook 🎣 I love kayaks but hate kayak fishing. I prefer to use them as travel ...more then get out and wade for more stealthy and thorough fishing
