      Brown going into white. A good general rule of thumb is small mouth usually live in fast moving rocky water while largemouth are more common in ponds and lakes.

      Smallmouth Bass with red eyes are actually quite common. It is not a hybrid, just a normal Smallie. A Redeye Bass (NOT the Rock Bass) is a different species altogether ...more and as far as I know not found..
