1. Details: Brook Trout

Not entirely sure on the species so if I'm wrong let me know in the comments! I've been up in WA for the past 2.5 weeks and haven't been able to fish ...more at all and it's been driving me crazy. Went camping with my cousins he other day and saw a bunch of these little tiny guys swimming around so I figured I should try and catch one to see what it is lol it's been awesome weather up here and I'm not

    1. Trevor Duran 0
Thanks guys! I'll change it to a brook @seaturtles @TennesseeTroutboy
    2. TennesseeTroutboy 0
Either a Brook trout or cutthroat trout fry
    3. Sean Wilms 0
not a perch, it's the fry of a kind of trout, I would guess brook trout but I'm not 100%, I am sure it's a trout/char fryling
    4. Trevor Duran 0
not looking forward to returning to AZ in the 110+ degree weather but at least I can fish haha.

  2. Details: Flathead Catfish

Nice 23lb flatty. This fish hit as soon as the bait hit the bottom. I used a kayak to run my bait out and by the time I got to shore he was peeling line!! Right ...more before this fish I caught an 11lber so when I rebaited this is what happened! Fishing a steep shelf drop off at the end of a sand beach. Caught in 30ft of water. Fish hit around 10:50pm. Never know what's gonna happen with these guys!

    1. PATRICK ELISHA 0
      You use blue gille?
    2. rileycarew 0
Great info, thanks man I'll give it a shot.
    3. JoshMFD 0
That's a massive cat man! Way to go
    4. tbailey007 0
      Nice cat
    5. Trevor Duran 0
      Thanks! @seaturtles
    6. Sean Wilms 0
      dude that's hog! great fish
    7. Trevor Duran 0
It's pretty complicated but it's very effective
    8. Trevor Duran 0
What this does is keep only the lead on the bottom. The bobber will keep the bait swimming around and trying to swim down. It keeps bait alive a lot longer too since ...more it never touches the ground @rileycarew
    9. Trevor Duran 0
Then make the bottom part of the swivel a leader for lead. Again fit the size lead to the size of bait. I use 6-8oz bank sinkers. Make the lead leader at least a ...more foot longer than the hook leader
    10. Trevor Duran 0
It starts off with a sliding bobber rig then for the swivel it's a big triswivel. Use a bigger bobber to fit the size bait. Tie the hook leader to the bottom ...more of the "T" on the swivel. Then
    11. rileycarew 0
How do you set up a 3 way suspended bobber?
    12. Trevor Duran 0
      Thanks @BrandonScottAlt

  3. Details: Flathead Catfish with a Live carp. 3 way suspended bobber rig

Patiently waiting for the fish to bite. Slow weekend and slow tournament. Only a few fish were brought into the weigh in this year. I caught a small flathead before ...more the tournament started and released it. Hopefully going to redeem myself in the next couple days. Water was very warm up river. 79 degrees at night! The big fish are starting to spawn so it's time to switch things up.

    1. tbailey007 0
      Is your name Trevor?
    2. Trevor Duran 0
Yeah the fish are spawning so it's hard to say what's gonna happen @cstrege17
    3. connor strege 0
Went on tuesday night and the bite was slow. carp fishing was slow too. we went up river and got nada. I am hoping the bite picks up soon!!

  4. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Surprisingly a live bluegill on a 3 way suspended bobber rig

Fishing for catfish and I get a nice big gift! Haha this nice sized post spawner was hungry and ate a big bluegill. Fishing in about 28fow. Using a Penn Rampage ...more jigging rod with a Shimano Baitrunner old school 6500. Definitely overkill for this guy but it still put up a nice fight jumping around. Always fun getting cool surprises like this. Filmed on my gopro but the video won't be out for a while

  5. This is a Sonora Sucker native to AZ waters. There isn't an option for them in the fish selection. Been a while since I caught a native species and it's ...more a nice sized one at that! These guys are one of the hardest fish I've tried to hook! Their mouths were almost flat and my J style hook was having trouble hooking up. Once I finally hooked one it screamed drag and even jumped a few times! A blast!

    1. KingofCats 0
We have redhorse suckers in my area and they taste good, do you eat these?
    2. Trevor Duran 0
They might be. I know they are in a few places here @TennesseeTroutboy
    3. TennesseeTroutboy 0
oh ok i thought they were only in oak creek canyon
    4. Trevor Duran 0
@TennesseeTroutboy it was in Greer. On the Little Colorado. It's almost to New Mexico
    5. TennesseeTroutboy 0
Was it in the Sedona area?
    6. Trevor Duran 0
Yup several years ago though haha they are really cool looking! @TennesseeTroutboy
    7. TennesseeTroutboy 0
Awesome fish, ever caught a Apache Trout?

  6. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout with a Corn/ worms on a 3 way rig. Using 8lb mono mainline and leader.

Had to find deeper holes to find the fish. Fishing in about 6fow between the shore and a weed line that was parallel with it. Very light bites. Pretty much had to ...more have the rod in hand in order to set the hook quick enough. First fish in the new kayak as well! Using 2 size 8 gamakatsu hooks with a 1/4oz egg sinker.

  7. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout with a Corn/ worms on a 3 way bottom rig

Finally stepped my kayak game up and bought this Ascend 12t! It is a lot nicer than my previous and holds a lot more stuff. I can also stand easily which is a perk. ...more After this trip I installed my fish finder with Ram Mounts. They are a bit pricey but the quality is nice. I plan to do a lot of mods on this!

    1. Trevor Duran 0
      Thanks! @diggerman
    2. diggerman 0
      Very nice rig!!!!!

Thanks! @JustinGoodman yeah I have a couple buddies with fs10's and they love them. I upgraded from the Ascend A10 lol but I had tons of mods on it. The FS12t ...more is already a lot better!
    6. JustinGoodman 0
      Nice ride****

Niceee rod dude. I got the Ascend FS10. Love ascend kayaks.

  8. Details: Flathead Catfish with a Live 1.5lb carp believe it or not on a 3 way suspended bobber rig

Winter fishing has been tough lately and I finally got a few a week ago. Used corn to catch carp for bait. Couldn't get any really small carp but still managed ...more to catch some greedy flatties eating big baits. This fish was caught in the original River channel in 60fow. I'm in an associationso I'm allowed to tag flatheads in certain lakes. I tagged and released all the flatheads I caught this trip!

    1. Trevor Duran 0
      Alright cool @wesm45
    2. wesm45 0
Ya hopefully! Text me at 602 465 4099 when ur going if u ever wanna fish man!
    3. Trevor Duran 0
Yeah that's what I figured lol they are still deep. Here in the next month they will be everywhere all of the shore spawning and stuff @wesm45 hopefully the ...more flats turn on soon too
    4. wesm45 0
yes very muddy, and the blue gill were about 20-30 feet I only caught 2 tho lol
    5. Trevor Duran 0
      @wesm45
    6. Trevor Duran 0
Well at least bait is doing good with all the inflow of water. Weird how the flats weren't biting. Was the water muddy? And how deep were the bluegill?
    7. wesm45 0
yeah dude a ton of carp and some big size bluegill we went by the yellow cliffs
    8. Trevor Duran 0
That sucks. You get any bait? @wesm45
    9. wesm45 0
      no luck :(
    10. wesm45 0
      thanks man!
    11. Trevor Duran 0
Use corn and fish on a sandy beach. There is tons of debris on the water so be careful @wesm45
    12. wesm45 0
      What about catching carp?
    13. Trevor Duran 0
Fish on the old river channel so go up river far enough to find that depth.
    14. Trevor Duran 0
@wesm45 the water level has change like crazy in the past couple weeks so it either shut them down or is making the prespawn happen. Can't really tell. I would ...more fish 20-35ft and go semi up river
    15. wesm45 0
hey man I'm heading up to Bartlett today with the boat u have any recommendations? New with Bartlett for flattys
    16. Tyler Jones 0
How bout Mesa or Phoenix area? Haha
    17. Trevor Duran 0
I've never fished in Tucson so I couldn't tell you haha @Jones44
    18. Tyler Jones 0
      Nice fish!
    19. Tyler Jones 0
Where are some nice trout or bass fishing by tuscon?
    20. Trevor Duran 0
Lol you know it! It was in the 30's at night but mid day it was around 70! That's AZ winter for you haha @Raoul
    21. ryan mcdowell 0

  9. Details: Other Freshwater with a Apparently carp was the bait

Hey how come I can't select Otter as a species?! Haha last fishing trip was a weird one... Caught come carp and put them in a basket to use later for flatheads. ...more We had one left in it over night and the otter wanted to have a snack so he went in the trap top and chewed on the carp that is in there.... Before long it needed to get air but couldn't so we found it dead in the morning like this!! Crazy

    1. nowling 0
      Did you skin him out
    2. Trevor Duran 0
Haha that's crazy and yeah that would be so awesome! It would have to be really deep here lol it would evaporate very quick here with temps easily reaching 115-120 ...more degrees @seaturtles
    3. Sean Wilms 0
stock it with my own catches. Rain would fill it up and it would be as deep or as shallow as i make it
    4. Sean Wilms 0
for to long. someday im gonna by some property in an area like where im living and im gonna dig my own pond out with a bulldozer. I think it would be the coolest ...more thing ever to have my own pond and
    5. Sean Wilms 0
wow...pretty amazing how different two states can be. the water table is so high where im at that no houses have basements because they would be submerged. even ...more my garage sits in water when it rains
    6. Trevor Duran 0
Haha that's awesome. We literally have 1 non man made lake in the whole state! And only a handful of native fish @seaturtles
    7. Sean Wilms 0
sediment no body of water (except the ocean of course) is very deep at all
    8. Sean Wilms 0
ya that's completely different than around me. Where i live the water table is only a couple feet into the ground so any ditch, hole, or depression is full of ...more water but because of all the runoff and
    9. Trevor Duran 0
Rain. We don't have hardly any actual rivers that don't have dams all over them. Just big deep lakes. Some get over 200ft deep here lol @seaturtles
    10. Trevor Duran 0
Yeah we mainly have reservoirs here and so the water levels fluctuate frequently. I think right now Bartlett is at 62% and it is still going down. Come May it will ...more be back to 100% Cuz of snow melt and
    11. Sean Wilms 0
ya that would be a totally different kind of fishing then any i do around here. The deepest lakes, rivers, and inlets around me only get to 20-30ft at the deepest
    12. Trevor Duran 0
carp basically only bite once it gets dark using light setups. Its tough here too but we kind of have a system down. This is the time for big fish and we haven't ...more had much of that compared to last year
    13. Trevor Duran 0
Releasing these fish after being brought up from really deep water is they need to decompress or they will just float to the top belly up from gas in there stomach. ...more So you need to get them in slow @seaturtles
    14. Trevor Duran 0
You are on the lake. I caught 2 in 50fow and one was in 60ft. Crazy how deep they are right now and in a couple months they will be very shallow. One really important ...more thing you need to know with
    15. Trevor Duran 0
You definitely need to know what you're doing here. I don't even try much for other species Cuz it's so slow. Flats are only in the original River channel ...more which ranges from 45-70fow depending on where
    16. Sean Wilms 0
ya im sure, winter sucks up where I am, it's hard to catch much of anything
    17. Trevor Duran 0
Haha yup it wasn't too bad... Also caught another 12 and a 16lber the next night so it was still a very fun trip @seaturtles
    18. Sean Wilms 0
nice! well then it was probably worth having to pull the dead otter out
    19. TennesseeTroutboy 0
      Wow that's wicked
    20. Trevor Duran 0
Yeah it was good that night. I caught a 12lb flathead and broke off my 50lb leader on one! Still upset about that and had another carp get ripped off my hooks before ...more I could get to it! @seaturtles
    21. Sean Wilms 0
was the fish at least still any good?
    22. Trevor Duran 0
Yeah we were pretty freaked out. Fun part was getting the rock hard body out.... Lol @seaturtles
    23. Sean Wilms 0
      oh ok, pretty unfortunate...
    24. Trevor Duran 0
That black top is a trap top so it's really easy to push down and get into it but it can't go up at all so he would have to pull it down some how then squeeze ...more through @seaturtles
    25. Sean Wilms 0
im wondering how the poor guy got in their in the first place
    26. dylangtrue7 0
@trevorfish yeah I had a turtle try brake into my basket
    27. Trevor Duran 0
And we didn't have service to call Game and Fish
    28. Trevor Duran 0
I didn't hunt them lol it went in the basket by itself and drowned some time in the night while we were sleeping. You definitely aren't allowed to hunt them ...more @dylangtrue7
    29. dylangtrue7 0
oh never mind you hunted them
    30. dylangtrue7 0
@trevorfish you wanted called game and fish aren't they a procted specie?
