1. Temp in mid 60s and overcast after several days of rain. Caught a bunch of croaker out at NOB, not on the pier. The bigger ones went after the Gulp, while the squid ...more rarely went out without coming back in with a fish. The larger ones were caught when I was trying to flounder fish at the bottom. Tide was just coming back in.

Atlantic Croaker with a squid or gulp chartreuse jerk shad

    1. leem311 0
@seaturtles could have been. I saw a guy using gulp and pulling in flounder a couple of weeks ago and they were tearing off the tails.
    2. Sean Wilms 0
I had two hits that ripped my gulp in half that could have been good sized but they were only pulling on the tail
    3. leem311 0
@seaturtles yeah, there weren't as many out as there have been, but that's mostly what we saw. There were huge flounder, but they either spit the hook, ...more or broke the line just before we got em in.
    4. Sean Wilms 0
that's all I got today kayaking Rudee, nothing else seemed to be around

Once again, the croaker were going nuts today at NOB. 28 keeper, and easily threw 30 others back. They loved the squid, but also bit on the gulp 5in shad. Better ...more when the tide came in and just after dark. You couldn't cast out without bringing one in.

    1. leem311 0
@seaturtles I wouldn't have thought it, but as I was cleaning I saw something weird and pulled it out with the knife. I looked it up after and saw that they ...more are one of the fish commonly afflicted.
    2. Sean Wilms 0
@leem311 no worries I hardly ever keep my catches but it's good thing you saw that before you ate it, I didn't realize flounder could get worms, I thought ...more only drum had that problem
    3. leem311 0
@seaturtles me too. Be careful with the flounder if you eat it. I found one last night with worms in the meat.
    4. Sean Wilms 0
well i honestly didn't mean to help somebody out but im glad I did. Hope your fish is tasty.
    5. leem311 0
@seaturtles And I wouldn't have known to check my spot out again if you hadn't given me the heads up on flounder being caught. Tomorrow my belly will thank ...more you as I fill it with fried flounder!
    6. leem311 0
@seaturtles I just saw. That sucks. But hey, at least you caught something. I'm making up for catching nothing but a Capri sun pouch a few weeks back.
    7. Sean Wilms 0
Nice! Rudee was dead for me today
    8. leem311 0
But I only post pics of my catches, otherwise I won't remember which are mine.
    9. leem311 0
@Esgar272 Well thank you both. The whole time I'm trying to take pics I'm trying not to laugh because my 74 year old fishing buddy keeps yelling at me to ...more stop being dumb.
    10. Esgar Montalvo 0
      I agree with @wyldechylde77
    11. leem311 0
@wyldechylde77 Haha, thanks! I figure you can't take a bad picture if you go ahead and make weird faces. Plus, I think the fish like it too.
    12. Chuck LaBruna 0
Love when you post your pics, girl. I swear, you make the most epic faces in your pics hahaha! Nice job!

Tons of little flounder out there today. Only 9 keepers, but probably threw back another 15 or more.

    1. leem311 0
      @Ben_Sanford So true. Or catfish.
    2. Ben_Sanford 0
      Nothing better than fresh flounder!
    3. leem311 0
@FishAK5280 Yup. It's always nice when you can catch good fish and watch the water, wondering what else is out there.
    4. FishAK5280 0
      Good times
    5. leem311 0
@Casting22Major Thanks! @simmsrenegade61 Thanks, tomorrow I've got family coming, so I'll cook them up a special treat!

Gorgeous day out. The croaker were going crazy and biting on anything thrown out there. I never went 5 minutes without pulling in a fish.

    1. leem311 0
@FishAK5280 yeah, but I didn't take a pole capable of landing anything bigger. I just thought I'd get some flounder. I didn't realize the shark or other ...more big boys would be out there.
    2. FishAK5280 0
Nice work!!! Definitely some good bait there!!!
    3. leem311 0
@Ben_Sanford The fish bucket was definitely making some strange noises!
    4. Ben_Sanford 0
      Rurrer....Rurrer...Rurrer!
    5. leem311 0
@DaPikeKilla Yeah, it sure beats a day of catching no fish.
    6. leem311 0
@makzymos Oh the bigger fish were trying to get them as I was reeling them in. But, my pole wasn't capable of bringing the big boys in. I know a little sand ...more shark was hanging around for a bit.
    7. Makz Jaramillo 0
Should've thrown one of those croaker on a big hook. I bet there some hungry big fish around
    8. DaPikeKilla 0
That's always fun doesn't matter how big they are

The line barely got out there and me and my neighbor were pulling it back in. nonstop fishing for about 4 hours. We caught about 50 or so croaker and just had to ...more throw back the littles. It was a super fun evening with lots of action. A sand shark kept trying to grab the fish when we pulled em in, but he failed tonight!

    1. leem311 0
@Ben_Sanford Hahaha. No doubt. Flounder are delicious, but hideous. Plus they have those teeth. I think I'll pass on those.
    2. Ben_Sanford 0
Keep your standards girl! Don't be kissin no croakers or carps. Wait for a big Ol' flounder, snapper or redfish!
    3. leem311 0
@Ben_Sanford I definitely came close! Every time I got my mouth close, the fish opened his, like he wanted mouth action. I managed to restrain myself though.
    4. Ben_Sanford 0
      πŸ‘πŸ–πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜˜

Gonna add another imodicon to my rating system for "kissed the fish"! Haha 😘

Only 2 keeper flounder tonight, but tons of little ones that I'll hopefully catch later this summer!

    1. Sean Wilms 0
ya on Tuesday when the wind was coming in from the south everybody was doing great. But on Thursday i got skunked and almost no one caught anything, but im glad ...more you got something
    2. leem311 0
@seaturtles I only went out there again because you said you'd seen people catching them again.
    3. leem311 0
Yeah, this was at my flounder spot from last year and it was packed. But only when the tide is first coming in and when it's low. I haven't seen any since ...more last November until yesterday.
    4. Sean Wilms 0
thats good news because everyone was struggling to catch one when I went to Rudee inlet on Thursday, probably because of the north wind pushing cold water in
    5. leem311 0
@seaturtles I thought it was going to avoid me too. Another guy was out there for an hour, catching a little one every 5 minutes or so.
    6. Sean Wilms 0
nice! the one fish that always seems to avoid me

  7. Details: Channel Catfish with a nightcrawler

Just after a little light rain. Caught several different fish near some Lilly pads. This little fatty wanted me to eat it.

    1. leem311 0
Yeah I was stoked, because I haven't been able to snag any since the one good sized one last summer. And I love fried catfish! @FishAK5280
    2. FishAK5280 0
Jealous... Tougher to find the catfish consistently in my neck of the woods.

Caught this cat on Lake Bradford today. 2nd cast out and snagged it by the Lilly pads. 4 cats caught there. 2 weeks ago, I only caught a Capri sun pack.

    1. leem311 0
@FISH_FEST I think you're right. I just got done cleaning them and they were 2 different cats. Thanks! I'm gonna get another type of fish blert!
    2. Collin Collin 0
Look up bullhead catfish. The head looks too bulky for a channel @leem311
    3. leem311 0

Caught on lake Whitehurst. Did a little birthday fishing today even though it was raining and in the 50s. I could see some big fish, probably carp, but they wouldn't ...more bite. Only caught this little sun fish, and a big ugly turtle. Oh well, at least I caught something!

    1. leem311 0
@Esgar272 Thank you! It was happy, even though I didn't catch dinner. lol
