  5. is is the crate I setup for my kayak the other day! for you guys that don't like the rods sticking straight up in the air catching on low hanging branches I ...more took 2" pvc pipe and bolted it to the sides of the milk crate at an angle so that the rods don't stick up the lay at an angle and you don't have to worry about the low tree limbs as much I think it might have cost $5 to make

    1. kyfiaherman44 0
@Cowboy713 yea that's true I never thought about that
    2. Chris Skinner 0
Nice job! Now get you some bungees to use as rod keepers and you can troll with that setup!
    3. David Fairchild 0
Always fun to customize! Don't quit until you find the design you are excited with. Always a better mouse trap!
    4. Jason Delgado 0
Ram mounts are a good way to go cuz they're adjustable . They run $25-$30.
    5. Just Fish 0
yea i have big problems with hitting low branches....this looks good but would still have to reach around in yak to get poles
    6. kyfiaherman44 0
@officersweet no actually there's nothing that much difference in this one verses the ones that stand straight up
    7. Steve Mueller 0
Great idea, although doesn't that make it difficult to get to the rods while sitting?
    8. TennesseeTroutboy 0
      Good idea thanks
    9. kyfiaherman44 0
@TennesseeTroutboy here is the crate I made so that the rods wouldn't hit low hanging limbs. I remember you had said something about it in some one else's ...more blert so I added this picture for you to c

@TennesseeTroutboy are the ledges but these were caught near the bank probably in 6-8 feet of water
    5. TennesseeTroutboy 0
They are still on the bank? I thought they would move deep by now. Are they in the ledges or along downed trees?
    6. kyfiaherman44 0
@TennesseeTroutboy not usually and most of the fish that were caught came from close to the bank
