1. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout

First rainbow trout on the fly. Fishing a private stream in the Great Smokey Mountains around 2000' where native bows hang. Casting into deep pools and where ...more the water was fastest and letting the worm drift. The falls provided oxygen for the warmer summer water that was around 60 degrees. They hit fast and the bite really turned on when the rain started to fall. They were all between 6-12".

  2. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout

Fly fishing in private creeks for native trout. Bit of a hike to find deep pools where trout are hanging under the falls and rocks to get more oxygen. After it started ...more raining, they struck was every cast. Water temperature was in the 60s. They strike very fast and hit usually within the first five casts. After a strike is missed, they won't usually come back so it's time to move upstream for more.

That's what we heard at 3000+. The weather has been pretty shifty around here this week and I wasn't the one making decisions or else I would have been all ...more over it! @TennesseeTroutboy

  3. Details: Largemouth Bass

Smoky Mountain fishing. First Tennessee bass. Treble hook was wrapped around the bill so I was reeling in fast to fix it and recast. As the lure was coming in, this ...more little bass struck hard out of the weeds near the bank. Nice surprise! Stuck to natural colors as the water was clear in the whole pond with the deepest probably at 3 feet. Right before sunset with no wind in beautiful 77º weather.

    1. jurssica 0
Thank you so much and for the info! :) @TennesseeTroutboy
    2. TennesseeTroutboy 0
Well that's great I'm glad you're enjoying your time in the Smokies. Try Adams creek and the little River for smallmouth. Lake Chillowhee and calderwood ...more are also nearby and have great bass and trout.
    3. jurssica 0
Yes! Fished a couple streams near Greenbrier today and caught native rainbow trout. Beautiful park. @TennesseeTroutboy
    4. TennesseeTroutboy 0
Are you going to be fishing in the park itself?

  4. Details: Gulf Flounder

Finally able to catch a fish on the #PsychoChicken. Water is beautiful clear/turquoise today. Temp is not as hot as it's been, and the slight breeze helps along ...more with occasional clouds. Tide is calm so gigging should be excellent. Fishing a 7ft drop off catching several keepers today. This lure held up until the crabs got to it!

      Nice job. Sweet fish.

  5. Details: Spotted (Speckled) Trout

Relaxing in the yak when this 21" speck hit and ran like crazy almost throwing my pole in the water. Bottom fishing a 4-14' drop off. Tons of bait in the ...more water but not a lot of top water activity from fish or birds. The birds we followed were diving over lady fish. Don't let the terns fool you when they dive, follow the seagulls! Water was 87°, clear green, outgoing, and mostly flat.

    1. Jeff Link 0
I'm with everyone else sweet trout. Great job.

  6. Details: Florida Pompano

The tide was flat incoming with clear green water. Jigging fast and getting into a mess of large ladyfish alongside. First ever pompano for me, caught on the bay ...more side of the bridge in 14 FOW. Fought good for its size, using a 5/0 circle hook. A lot of fish are holding thick in the bottom three feet of water. Throwing any soft plastic triggered a bite.

    1. Jeff Link 0
Here in fl. It's 11 inches to the fork. I prefer the 12 to 16 inches. You should try one. Good luck.
    2. jurssica 0
I heard they were good but I didn't keep this one. What size is usually good eating? Head to tip of tale was 14" on this one. @flounderking63

  7. Details: Sheepshead with a Live shrimp

Tough bite from external conditions. Tide was very high incoming past due time, didn't slack until maybe 3pm. Winds were strong SE 15mph. Party cloudy day. Lucky ...more to get anything other than hardheads. Caught a couple sheepshead with this the biggest at 17". They'd pick at the bait hard and fast starting with the legs and then run and that's when the hook could be set. Fishing over oysters in 8fow.

      Great info
  8. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Red Glitter Craw

Caught this 3.5 lb bass in the pond I fish. I've caught it three other times prior to this and this is the first sign of red marks on it. Any idea what it is? ...more Will it go away? On the scales it was rough, and the mouth it was smooth. That was the only place. It was also hooked right at the top of the lip, so no hooks were around the wound. Any help is appreciated!

    1. AFTICA2_FISHING_TEAM 0
I mean wounds from the spawn that havent healed yet it should be alright
    2. AFTICA2_FISHING_TEAM 0
Ya it is probably just post pawn
    3. Garrison243 0
Beat up post spawner. Probably had to fight off a bunch of bluegill and got pretty beat up.
    4. bigbass109 0
Well there are rocks in any pond and it might be from moving rocks to spawn
    5. jurssica 0
I don't think there are any rocks in that pond, just fallen tree branches. It's super small. But I don't know. The bottom is silt as well. @bigbass109 ...more @CJS21 @nicklovin25
    6. nicklovin25 0
Yeah what he said^ but could be from spawning and moving rocks around making her bed.
    7. bigbass109 0
It might be really territorial and getting in fights with other fish or hitting its self on rocks where it lives

  9. Details: Inshore Slam (trout/flounder/redfish) with a Live shrimp, fresh dead shrimp

Finally caught a slam and a limit of reds with my dad. Cloudy day with 17 mph S winds, mid 70s. The trout hit right when the lure hit the water. All of the reds ...more were caught in the afternoon during tide change from out-in within an hour. Had two double ups and a double myself with a sheepshead and a red. Fishing an oyster bed, super choppy waters in Cold Pass. Best day fishing this year so far.

    1. YakinTexasBrandon 0
Yeah I'm hoping it's not too bad. Thanks for the info tho!
    2. jurssica 0
Good luck. There will probably be more boats out since the holiday. Fished bottom with 3/4oz jig head. Might need heavier if a swifter current @YakinTexasBrandon

  10. Details: Grass Carp with a Piece of bread on weightless 1/0 bait holder hook

Been wanting to catch one for a while so I brought the bait for it. Chummed the water with corn and bread and they took bread. This fish was 30" and weighed ...more in at 7lbs. Cloudy day with patches of sun, 84° no wind. They usually tail around shore, so I casted parallel and let the bait sit. They would hold it in their mouth and I gave it a few seconds before I set the hook. This one landed itself.

    1. zack2car 0

    6. Esgar Montalvo 0
Great fish @jurssica did you also try corn but they took the bread??? What Lb line were you using?
