1. Details: Blacktip Shark

Finally got a big one on the sand! 61" black tip nailed a mullet I yakked 150 yards off the beach. Dropped the mullet below a sandbar at about 8 foot deep and ...more waited. Gave me an almost 20 minute fight and even had a tag! Not too hot out 81 degrees with a water temp of 83 degrees. Little breeze blowing north west towards the main land. So stoked for this big black tip!

  2. Details: Spinner Shark

First time shark fishing with my new reel, kayaked out the bait to about 150 yards, dropped it and yakked back. Waves were really rough since it stormed earlier ...more in the day. We got back to the beach and this 42" im guessing spinner shark was hooked less than 10 minutes later. @SwampMafia not sure what type of shark this is, guessing a spinner but not positive, do you have any idea?

    1. Gone_fishingg 0
Thanks! It's a good way to start! @SwampMafia

  3. Details: Red (redfish) Drum

Big red I got tonight casting in about 9 feet of water. The only bite I get is at night... To hot during the day. Had the cut mullet out for about 30 minutes before ...more he took it. Wind was blowing east at about 6 mph, and 86 degrees out. Water temp is at an insane 90 degrees+... Way too hot for day fishing.

    1. Gone_fishingg 0
      That's exactly the problem @FishHooker
    2. FishHooker 0
I don't know who's to blame but I felt like some times they wouldn't let enough flow through the gates.

    4. Gone_fishingg 0
Yea, I've caught some of my biggest fish there, it's a great producing pond til last years fish kill. Killed almost all of the trout and the majority of ...more the big reds.
    5. FishHooker 0
Biggest red we got in and released was about 58 inches but that was at flyway 6-7years ago. I know you know but watch out for bigsneaky gator waiting under dock ...more if they didn't get rid of him yet๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ต
    6. Gone_fishingg 0
It's awful, everything down by the ocean course is gone, it's really sad rose everything go @FishHooker
    7. FishHooker 0
Nice! I've seen 50inch plus swimming around fly way and surf song making wakes like jet skies ... Lol but I haven't fished out there in years. I think some ...more of our secret spots are now developed๐Ÿ‘Ž

Good fish at bass pond including 2 30", a tagged 35" red, and a big 38" red.
    10. Gone_fishingg 0
Yea, it used to produce really well, until they dredged it. If you go out there at low tide there is a tiny stream that isn't 5 inches deep where the big pool ...more used to be. I've been catching some reall
    11. FishHooker 0
Kills since. Awful sight. Hundreds of big fish floating and thousands of gulls feeding. Sick to my stomach seeing it. By now it may have bounced back a little.
    12. FishHooker 0
@Gone_fishingg I have caught tons of reds and blacks there a long time ago. I caught a 44inch black drum on the shoal by the lone tree sticking up off platform but ...more they're has probably been 2-3fish
    13. Gone_fishingg 0
I'm not really sure, haven't fished there this year much @FishHooker
    14. FishHooker 0
@Gone_fishingg does bait still collect at pipes across from Ocean Course? Check it at low if you already haven't before throwing net.
    15. FishHooker 0
@Gone_fishingg Nice! Dolla dolla bills ya'll!

  4. Went out sail fishing with Captain Rick Rodriguez on the Seahorse today. My brother got the first fish, and this sailfish bit at about 9:45ish. It was my brother's ...more first billfish so I was very proud of him even though I didn't get anything. We were kiting in 100 ft of water above the reef. Sailfish is bite normally between 9 and 11 a.m here. It was a great day on the water!

      Awesome pic!
  5. Details: Spotted (Speckled) Trout with a 8" lady fish cut up into 4 sections, using about a 2 inch mid section of the ladyfish with a 2.0 eagle claw circle hook on a ...more 12" 20 lb braid leader. 1/2 oz egg weight on mainline 20 lb green braid.

Dinky trout, the only fish of the day. The fishing is very slow, I believe the cause of it is the heat wave that just came around. 80* today, and water temp around ...more 75*. I was fishing for bull reds and threw my lady fish on a sand bar at 4 FOW*. I used my favorite combo- Shimano symétre spinning reel and Pfluger Trion rod. Had 1 other good run, but this trout was the only fish that came out today.

  6. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Water red chart lizard by Zoom on a 4.0 j hook by eagle claw. A 3/8 oz black bullet weight. Using 20 lb green braid line as well as my favorite ...more rod and reel combo, shimano symétre and pfluger Trion.

Nice 2 lb bass. Using a water red chart lizard by zoom, fishing downed pine trees. This bass is 1 out of 18! I would throw the lizard past the pine trees in 4 FOW, ...more then slow retrieve it over the tree. When itgot past the tree, I let drop. Almost every time I did this I got a hit! It was a lot hotter today, 91* out, so I think that made the bass more aggressive. It was a great day for fishing!

  7. Details: Channel Catfish with a Zoom water red chart lizard on a 4/0 j hook and 1/4 oz bullet weight. 20 lb braid mainline and my favorite combo Shimano symétre spinning ...more reel and pfluger Trion spinning rod.

Nice channel on a lizard! Fishing for bass in about 12 FOW with the water red hart lizard. There's a rocky drop off and all the bass sit by it, so I dropped ...more it straight Dow and waited for one to nail it. I felt a tap, and set the hook only to land this nice 4 lb channel. It was really cloudy yesterday and only 76* out. The water temp is in mid 80's, and there was a NE wind at 8 MPH.

  8. Nothing like lake fishing with a old Zebco push button pole! I had been snagged or stolen of bait from the day before, so I dropped my hotdog right off the dock ...more and waited for about 30 min. The line started to get tight and I set the hook! Nice little channel for the day! 82* and 77 water temp, fishing old flooded oak trees off the dock in about 23 FOW.

Channel Catfish with a Cut 1" hotdog on a 2.0 j hook with a 3/8 oz egg weight resting above the hook. 17 lb test line on the old Zebco 33!

  9. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Zoom bubble gum pink 6" worm on a 2.0 j hook with a 3/8 oz bullet weight and 20 lb green braid. Set up was Pfluger Trion and shimano ...more symétre spinning reel.

The late summer bite is on! Caught a bunch of nice ones including this 3.5 lber today. I was casting into a hole about 8 FOW and twitching the worm 3 or 4 times. ...more I would let the worm sit for about 5 seconds then twitch it again. HOT! 97* so the water temp must be in the low 100s.

  10. Finally got back on the bama bass! Went down to Smith Lake to my favorite spot (a huge grass flat) and used the water red chart lizard by Zoom. I was casting it ...more about 20 yards in and about 4 FOW. I would let it sink for 5 seconds and then slow retrieve through the grass. Whenever I felt a heavy weight on my line I would set the hook. It was hot, 91* and 83* water temp. We got 7 bass overall!
