1. 12 solid fish on the red eye shad this past Saturday. Throwing opposite the current and around structure and submerged trees. I didn’t bring a scale, but estimating ...more this one between 2.5 and 3lbs.

2 lb. Largemouth Bass with a Strike King red eye shad

      Nice bass...and good estimate
  2. Details: Largemouth Bass

Been having lots of luck on the Keitech Crazy Flapper. Whatever action it has the bass are tearing up. This chunk and several others were caught in 2ft of water ...more next to giant mats of algae. Fish are underneath algae and pounce at whatever is in the open water next to them. Lizard bite is on fire once the sun starts going down. Temp. drop is helping too.

Well guys, it's officially summer. Which means I'm back in the fishing game! More blerts to come.

      Fish on!!! Good luck!!
  4. Details: Atlantic Croaker

Took out the little dudes today to catch some small saltwater fish at Massey's Landing. Rigged up two rods with spot rigs and some cut squid or Fishbites and ...more casted right next to a floating dock. Caught one sea bass and one small croaker this way. Then I rigged a freshwater rod up with three 1/8oz jig heads each about 8 inches apart w/ squid only. Caught two bluefish, five croaker, and one spot.

  5. Details: Redear (shellcracker) Sunfish

Besides this giant 10 inch sunfish, yesterday absolutely sucked. Mainly because my GoPro's clamp mount broke and the whole thing, along with the camera itself, ...more sank to the bottom of the lake. I dove down myself and felt with my hands for an hour trying to find it, then I used a rake, and even a saining (how is it spelled?) net. Then, a scuba diver came out, and even he couldn't find it. Ugh.

Freakin awesomeness!!!! Took my best friend out fishing for the first time and not only did she catch her first bass, I caught this pig! Hooked this hog between ...more a fallen tree and a weedline (about a 6 foot space). Slowly dragged along the bottom and popped it every couple seconds. Big boy hit on the pop! Highs 70s to low 80s, sunny, water really murky so pretty low vis. Chartreuse is killin it!!

    7. Charlielewis3 0
@gkendus ya @lewsiscool sure does exaggerate a lot
    8. David Willson 0
I'd say it's more than 4 for sure! I mean I'm a fisherman so I have to exaggerate a little bit but he's gotta be at least 4.5πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
    9. gkendus 0
Thank you! @MDBassmaster @lewsiscool The scale said he was just under 4lbs but he felt heavier. It's an old spring scale and it's a little rusted so it might ...more be wrong
    10. MDBassmaster 0
      Nice fish!
    11. David Willson 0
That's a GOOD looking fish! Congrats. How much did she weigh 5.5-6? Good job!

Two fish today during a quick, late afternoon session. Not ideal conditions. Very little sun, mid 70s, rained on and off. Really really murky water so went with ...more the brightest senko I own. Tried out the Freedom Tackle Hydra Head which I usually use on swimbaits and it still killed it. Works just like a wobble head. One fish next to fallen tree and the other on opposite bank's weed line. (Cont.)

@Esgar272 Ikr. I think it's a 5/0 but they're completely interchangeable and I can put any hook I want on it
    5. Esgar Montalvo 0
      Those hooks are huge.
    6. tacticalscissors 0
It's worth it for a fish though
    7. gkendus 0
P.S.- Wearing shorts to try and get through a sticker bush patch isn't a good idea. Ever.
    8. gkendus 0
Got stinging nettles, 5 mosquito bites, and upwards of 20 scratches from sticker bushes trying to get where I wanted to go. Oh, and I almost lost a flip flop in ...more mud. The things you do to catch fish...

Another fun day on the water. Headed out around 4, fish didn't turn on until 6:45ish. About 20 fish total and 4 that got away. Again the wind caused us to drift ...more constantly. Sunny & in the 80s. Water temp. 80+ w/ very high visibility. All fish were caught near/under overhangs, coves, brush, and weed lines. Texas rigged worms and lizards were the way to go. Just wouldn't eat any hard baits today.

      Good stuffπŸ‘πŸ»
    2. crookcody19 0
Oh yeah I'm with you on that! I always have 1 or 2 rods with Texas rigs but I have never had luck on lizards so clearly you seem to be the better of the 2 of ...more us ahah
    3. gkendus 0
Thanks! @King_Fisher and yup haha @crookcody19 they're my go-to rig. You'll almost never catch me without a Texas rig on at least one of my rods
    4. crookcody19 0
Your all about the Texas rigs! Ahah
    5. crookcody19 0

Was fishing a weed line and pulled this little guy out only to notice a big chunk of him was missing. My guess is a pickerel did the damage?

    1. Zacktkeler101 0
      Probably a Hairen
    2. Jacob Breaux 0
      @gkendus @Cowboy713 πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
    3. crookcody19 0
Probably a bird. A chain pickerel would leave both top and bottom marks
    4. majorleaguefisher9 0
Had the same thing happen to me it's a big ole snapping turtle
    5. Chris Skinner 0
      Get on it!

    11. tacticalscissors 0
A lot of bass in my pond have a scar in the exact same place and there are no pickerel or gar in there
    12. Chuck LaBruna 0
Vampire. Nosferatu. A real Dracula. Only thing it could have been. Scratch that...a Chupacabra. No doubt. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜
    13. Esgar Montalvo 0
Looks more like a ninja sword cut to me
