1. I'm a novice to Striper fishing and to lake Richland Chambers.
Could someone give me a hint as to where to find stripers in July?
    Depth of water, etc.

    1. Kevin Daigle 0
      Derek,
I know that the deep bite has been slow at Conroe. Just dont have any good advice. But will let you know after this weekend. Do you have any suggestions ...more for fishing Lake Houston. My son has a Tournament three weekends from now and just dont know where to start but up north beating the backs for some females moving up.
    2. Larry Mabra 0
Thanks Max. I appreciate the response.
    3. Max Cobb 0
My opinion is you can't beat an Alabama or "umbrella" rig for fast action - you can try slow trolling to control your depth this time of year. Or regular ...more trolling in colder months for the surface bite. We do very well.
    4. Max Cobb 0
I'm not familiar with that lake but it's about the same temperate as here in South Carolina. Towards August it starts to get a little too hot for good striper ...more fishing but you might still find a bite out there fishing deep. Typically they hold between 25-40 feet this time of year depending on the depth of the lake. Look on your depth finder on open water and see if you can find any bait balls / fish tracking at a depth range. Drop cut bait or spoons down there and drift. If dropping spoons, drop to the bottom of your range and then rip them up hard to the top of your range, let it fall and repeat, repeat. When a school comes through you'll get bit. It's a waiting game but usually best in the early morning or late evening like anything else.

Tournament is for Bass and we will likely launch from Stow-away. Cagle is a good area, haven't fished it in years.
    7. Mark Oland 0
What type of fishing you looking to do? If you launch at the Cagle rec area on the north part of the lake there is plenty of lay down timber all along the banks. ...more Also a submergered stump field across from the boat dock. I fish there a lot, never caught a giant but lots of 3-4 overs
