1. Details: Largemouth Bass

I have noticed in my past 7 years of bassing that the best time to fish is right before and durning a storm because of the low barometric pressure. I've gotten ...more 7 bass so far; two on a Carolina rig with a Colorado blade and the rest on a critter bait. This 5.8 pound female smashed the fighting frog far from me as soon as I started bumping it into what I think was rocks, and the fight was insane!

    1. thedevman1 0
Great job as usual. I'm heading out there today. Haven't been in a couple weeks. Caught 6 the last time. Nothing big. The place really stresses me out with ...more some of the anglers and watching em keep....
    2. thedevman1 0
@CherokeeMac the larger ones. I am catch and release but there's no way they can empty that place! Last year there were a lot of big dead bass carcasses. Signs ...more of a healthy lake but under harvested
    3. thedevman1 0
@CherokeeMac well it's not catch and release there unfortunately. There is a sign along with the park rules that you can keep 5 bass if they are over 14 inches. ...more Yeah there's quite a few ppl keeping
    4. CherokeeMac 0
@makzymos I hate hearing that people are emptying the lake. The fish I caught had been caught before. He had two suspect spots around his mouth. Swam away like a ...more champ.
    5. CherokeeMac 0
@aesthetic_legacy we may have met. I have heard about they guy with the backpack full of bass. A few people asked me about keeping them. I told them it is a catch ...more and release lake.
    6. aesthetic_legacy 0
Not it wasn't him, this guy was putting them in his backpack, but I know exactly who your talking about lmao. I just don't understand why people have to ...more take bass home:/ @makzymos
    7. Makz Jaramillo 0
@aesthetic_legacy was he the "bucket guy" ? There some dude always taking bass out including ones under size. (As if bass across from dog pee filled park ...more would taste good)
    8. aesthetic_legacy 0
They do, it's like a strong thug and they don't jump as much, way better fight for sure @CherokeeMac
    9. aesthetic_legacy 0
Yeah I started fishing it on January and it's always full of fisherman, and ALOT of people take the bass home in fact the dude next to me was taking the bass ...more home even the small ones caught on shad @makzymos
    10. Makz Jaramillo 0
That spot is pretty popular now. I fished a little tournament there once and saw some big fish pulled. A lot of Houston bass slayers fish there. Hear tales of people ...more taking bass out :-/ but most CPR
    11. CherokeeMac 0
Thank man. I was inspired and lucked out. It was dark so my photo isn't so good. The big ones fight differently.
    12. aesthetic_legacy 0
Good luck , wheatear is perfect @CherokeeMac
    13. aesthetic_legacy 0
      -Appreciate it man! @aus_10

  2. Details: Other Snapper

Sharks gave me a hard time today, this happened to me 5 times but still caught several good sized snappers fishing 80 FOW. I decided to use my swimbait set up and ...more a monster fish took all 300 yards of braid so I switched to a big rod and reel spooled with 50lb mono- no more problems after that.

  3. Details: Largemouth Bass

Caught this bass with the head of a 5lb+ fish casting next to a pile of floating weeds; slow retrieve and a little twitch did the job.

    1. bassgetter 0
I pass up that area everyday to work... looks private tho. well nice fish tho
    2. aesthetic_legacy 0
Yeah swim baits are a great choice to find the biggest fish in any body of water, when I caught this fish the guy that took the pic told me he's seen a lot bigger ...more from that pond @MulletHead
    3. Gabe Mitchell 0
Great fish, didn't know that pond held them that size. Water always looked too cloudy

Location X is a great spot to fish but somebody with a big mouth trying to make friends made a bad decision now everyone and thier uncle goes and trashes the place ...more SMH NO RESPECT
    4. aesthetic_legacy 0
      Location x huh @ReelGame
    5. aesthetic_legacy 0

  5. Details: Gafftopsail Catfish

Even though i came for Redfish, it was still fun being out in the water with friends and family. Caught several cats this weekend, this being the biggest. Most fish ...more where caught in the second sandbar or further and i had to use a 6 oz spider weight to keep my bait in place.

    1. rozuna 0
dude weigh em in for star tournament!
    2. Edward Pease Bomber1 0
Nice gafftop. I had 9 oz of weight yday and it was still drifting left

  6. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Abu Garcia Veritas 7'0 MH Rod paired with a Shimano Cardiff 200A spooled with 30lb Power Pro braid. Spro bbz-1

Caught this 4 pound chunk swimming the spro through hard current coming from a culvert; slow retrieve with a twitch around every 10th revolution. Whenever you see ...more shad breaking the surface or coming out of a culvert throw swimbaits, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, crank baits..etc anything that matches the hatch.

    1. aesthetic_legacy 0
Haha on the first cast @bomber1
    2. aesthetic_legacy 0

  7. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Pearl white Chatterbait with Zman trailer Abu Garcia Veritas 7'0 MH Rod paired with a Shimano Cardiff 200A spooled with 30lb Power Pro ...more braid

Decided to try a new pond and there where no bites until I went to the corner where the wind was blowing. I was fishing lateral to the cement drop off trying to ...more imitate shad and I started getting bit like crazy. This fish gave me the best fight of the day and came out to be 4.5lbs. Please excuse my hair, that's what happens when there's constant showers and strong wind currents⚡️

    1. aesthetic_legacy 0
      Haha great idea! @WormDrowner

  8. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Mike Triton 6 inch Bullshad Abu Garcia Veritas 7'0 MH Rod paired with a Shimano Cardiff 200A spooled with 30lb Power Pro braid

Decided to fish really early and it sure paid off, this is the biggest out of five. Whenever you see a school of bluegill cast a slow sinking swimbait about 20 ...more feet past it and reel it slowly next or through them with a few twitches in between. Many times there's a big bass waiting to ambush a bluegill even if you can't see it, I have also seen bass swim from a distance to break the school.

  9. Using a round reel makes swimbait fishing a lot more fun since I'm casting these hudds a country mile. When fishing swimbaits in the hottest part of the day ...more cast towards the deepest spot of the pond and reel back slowly. I lost a fish that was easily in the 5-6 pound range right as I tried to grab its jaw, so I casted to the same spot and this 4 pound bass swallowed my Hudd 68.

Largemouth Bass with a Abu Garcia Veritas 7'0 MH Rod paired with a Shimano Cardiff 200A spooled with 30lb Power Pro braid and Huddleston 68 black gizzard shad

  10. Don't be afraid to throw big baits for bass remember this fish are opportunistic feeders and will eat anything 1/3 the size of their body sometimes even bigger ...more such as this scenario where I had this 2 pound bass smash the hudd and luckily got hooked no stinger needed.
