  3. Details: Spotted (Speckled) Trout with a KellyWiggler Paddle Tail

Worked a shoreline close to a channel and after two 50 yard drifts I ended the day with my limit of reds, trout and black drum. I focused on the mullet being busted ...more by the game fish and worked my lure in their path. Observing the conditions and what the wake formations help out to sight cast.

    1. Psjabears1 0
where do you fish. and what bait to you recomend for red?
    2. YAK_Addiction 0
@fishkrzy yes, around this time. Early spring from the transition of winter.
    3. fishkrzy 0
Yak do you ever fish South Bay ?
    4. YAK_Addiction 0
      Sight casting is exhilarating!
    5. fishkrzy 0
It's nice when they are in the flats. Can't wait to fish LL in May
    6. YAK_Addiction 0
I lipped it with my bogas but forgot to take the weight. From others that I've caught and roughly just as fat will weigh in the range of 5-5.5 lbs
    7. coltonrogers19 0

  4. Details: Spotted (Speckled) Trout with a KellyWiggler Paddle Tail, MirrorLure Twitch Bait, DOA Shrimp

Corner sandbar flat between two moderate channels, worked the bait slow with fast short twitches.

    1. YAK_Addiction 0
Out of the 4 only 1 had food in the stomach. The big trout was all meat and not stomach haha

  6. Details: Red (redfish) Drum with a Kelly Wiggler

Sometimes you just need to have a passion. Worked a back eddy embankment where a large school of reds were feeding. Every cast was a hookup with a fish and every ...more fish caught was in the slot size. Wade fished a shoreline. Water movement, tides, wind, bait, sub-surface structure, sea bed are all factors to know.

    1. jordan lezcano 0
Ya it is a little heavier than other reels
    2. YAK_Addiction 0
@inlet_fisher99 I should've gone with the 1000 lol bc casting and reeling out of a kayak is workout sometimes. I plan to upgrade to the battle II maybe
    3. jordan lezcano 0
Sweet I got the 3000 size nice reel for the price
    4. YAK_Addiction 0

  7. Details: Red (redfish) Drum with a Kelly Wiggler

Went out for a morning wade along a shoreline; bait was being busted in large deep pockets of water. Look for large enough wakes that would be a large fish swimming ...more and all you need to do is sight cast in the area. Almost double limited out on reds, keeped my first limit and released two more. I also lost about 4 other hookups due to not changing my lure from the past 5 trip ( go to plum )

    1. Tommy Horn 0
Do you have a YouTube channel?.
  8. Details: Spotted (Speckled) Trout with a Kelly Wiggler Paddle Tail

Plum chartues paddle tail (go to lure) did the trick with a slow bump bump retrieve. All the trout caught were in 4-8' water depth with colder temps and sight ...more casted the red along the flats off a deep channel while i was looking for flounder. Check out my video http://youtu.be/FhVhIS38wpU of all the action. http://youtu.be/FhVhIS38wpU

  9. Details: Red (redfish) Drum with a Kelly Wiggler Paddle Tail

Headed out to Holly Beach with a few friends on a very rough day with winds blowing 15-18 knots. Water was rough but had a clear visible color change in specific ...more areas. Took shelter behind an island with a SE wind and set up on the edge of a grass bed and sand trough. Caught and released on red at 19". Set a drift pattern towards the shoreline and caught 3 **** trout. Set up near some mangroves...

    1. matthew johnson 0
Well the islands leading up to the east cut along the channel hold a lot of flattys
    2. YAK_Addiction 0
Lately i have been fishing out of Port Mansfield

  10. Details: Red (redfish) Drum with a Mirro-lure

Slack to low tide with slight water movement. Glass flat with no wind, so that called for topwater and plenty of bait action on the surface as well. Fast and tight ...more zig zag action. Cast out past a tailing red into a pocket of bait fish and worked the topwater fast over the path of the red's head. Red busted the lure out of the water as if chasing mullet. Topwater action all morning.

    1. WalkerZander 0
      Ye thats what I've heard
    2. YAK_Addiction 0
@WalkerZander it happens to everyone at least once for those that kayak fish, dude lol but the cuda will be def more stable to the point of standing to sight cast!
    3. WalkerZander 0
Ok thanks for your help. I'm getting that kayak because i was fishing in a 700$ pelican and I flipped in it and lost my rod and reel haha. Thanks for your help. ...more Much appreciated
    4. YAK_Addiction 0

      In galveston bay
    7. YAK_Addiction 0
It really boils down to personal preference though and what feels comfortable to you and be able to handle water conditions. Cuda 14 is a very good kayak and know ...more quit a few people that use it in CC!
    8. YAK_Addiction 0
It's a good kayak but it all depends on what you will be using the kayak for; bay, offshore, wading, flats? I would say to go to a shop and test each kayak you ...more have in mind. @WalkerZander
    9. WalkerZander 0
What do u think of the Jackson cuda 14? It's about 1.4k
    10. YAK_Addiction 0
To travel faster and farther with more efficiency to fish! :)
    11. YAK_Addiction 0
@WalkerZander it is a Hobie Adventure and roughly costs 2k but not too positive with the newer 2015 models with awesome upgrades and very comfortable dry seat. I ...more went the mirage drive (peddling) route
    12. WalkerZander 0
What kind of yak is that and how much? I'm thinking about getting a Jackson cuda 14
    13. YAK_Addiction 0
And a touch of pro-cure inshore
    14. YAK_Addiction 0
@GizmosBait pro dog by mirrolure with c-eyes
