While visiting family in Seattle I decided to hit the river for some salmon. Drift fishing and jigging was proven successful. Managed to land a Coho as well.

I started fishing because it was fun. No matter how old you are, a good fish can make you feel like a kid again. Sometimes you just want to act a fool. I guess that's ...more what Oliver Ngy and myself are doing here. Flexing on fish! Caught this girl on the main lake on an isolated rock pile. Crept up into the creek later in the day for a photo op.
Spent the weekend fishing with Elite Series Pro Brandon Palaniuk. He ended up landing a new PB at 12lbs 4oz. We were talking to a grandfather and his grandson who ...more were fishing the bank at the time. The grandpa was confused as to what we were fishing for when he saw the size of our baits. We told him "Largemouth Bass". As he was still trying to wrap his head around the concept it happened...BOOM!!!
Who says you can't catch a bass on a topwater bait in water temperatures below 60 degrees in the middle of November? Not me anymore! Out fishing with http://instagram.com/bigbassdreams ...more Oliver Ngy. Showing him what Texas has to offer.

Wasn't targeting catfish, was actually after bass. Apparently I have "the blues". Was tough fishing, fighting the heat was the most difficult. Also, ...more this lake has so many submerged trees, finding the fish is like looking for a needle in a haystack, everything looks so good.
Tough fishing lately, but still managed to land a few good ones on that swimbait. Targeting river channels in the lake and working the bottom proved to be successful. ...more The key was getting as close to the bottom without getting hung up. http://instagram.com/p/qZT8l0pirO/
When others feel it's too windy to fish @_shorttx and I know we have the water to ourselves. Turns out the weather report for last night wasn't all that ...more accurate,... huh? Go figure. Don't get me wrong there were some occasional gusts but Bryan's foot control skills were on point. Flippin and Pitchin then Twitchin, that's the recipe to getting us some numbers. Patience and persistence pays off.
Fishing at night is like a box of chocolates! You never know what you gonna get. Sometimes you don't even see what you have until it's at the boat. Sometimes ...more you don't get to see the fish at all. Fortunately that wasn't the case this time. A tip of advice, if it feels like a good one, tell your net man immediately. It's better to cry wolf than to cry over losing the fish of a lifetime.
Unless your fishing a topwater swimbait, most of the time your best off fishing the very bottom. On every cast I make sure I allow plenty of time to let my swimbait ...more sink to the bottom. That way I can just crawl it along bumping into structure. Just make sure you are using a bait that doesn't have hanging trebles, otherwise you'll lose a lot of baits fishing like this. She was a fighter!
