  1. Thought this photo edit came out pretty sweet with Fishidy, Ardent, and GameOn!

    1. thanks though, it crushed a 9in swimbait right next to the boat at the end of the retrieve, pretty awesome sight.

My biggest is ...more 47 inches but it was spawned out and probably weighed about the same as this one, this one was only 40 inches. Guys over estimate the weights a lot haha

  5. Here are 50 of the 126 Oscars from today in my back livewell

Oscar with a road runner, spinnerbait

    1. Morris Campbell
      Excellent table fare!
    2. Brad Devore
      Are they very tasty
    3. Morris Campbell
      Better!
    4. George Lay
Do they taste like a bluegill?
    5. Morris Campbell
Around 3 lbs. A 1.5 lb. Oscar fights like a 2-3 smallmouth. Very scrappy!
    6. Kenneth Olivo
Around how big do these guys get Morris?
    7. A Reid
These were in the let shops in the 70s
    8. I wouldn't complain about cleaning that pile!!! :)
    9. Ronald Howell
I am glad that you are catching some of these and
eliminating them from competing with the bass for spawning areas and food.
    10. Morris Campbell
@Shawn there are plenty of bass and other native fish in the Everglades too. They had a strike on every cast pretty much all day.
    11. Morris Campbell
Thanks guys. Yes they are an invasive species Shawn. They strike and fight like a smallmouth bass. My customers took them home in two coolers . No cleaning other ...more than my boat Pete..:)
    12. Pete Garm
Im not to sure what those are but you have your work cut out filleting! Nice man
    13. Melissa Norris
      that's awesome mr. Morris!go road runnerπŸ˜€
    14. Kenneth Olivo
you always catch something nice! I gotta get out there the waters must be so rich with fish deff gonna plan a trip to Florida I'm itching for a peacock lolol ...more nice fish morris!
    15. Shawn Gearinger
Morris aren't those an invasive species? Are they crowding out other native species?
    16. Mitch Roth
The road runner will catch anything, hands down the most versatile lure for catching a variety.
    17. Morris Campbell
Tim they ate every plastic tail i had on the boat. Any color, twister, paddle, didn't matter! Gulp, powerbait, strikeking crappie grub. Had 9 bass , two catfish ...more and two big bowfin all on the roadrunners.
    18. Tim Steinmetz
That's crazy! You catch some weird stuff, Morris!
    19. Robert Coleman
      Cool!

  7. I finally got the boat wet for the first time of the season on Friday. A buddy and I decided to fish Lake Superior for cohos. Long story short, we didn't catch ...more any fish, but the scenery on Lake Superior is tough to beat! We also had to break some ice getting out of the boat launch, as the bay skimmed across over night. Note, planer boards don't work very well when pulled through ice. . .

    1. tom richardson
sand pt. to the anna...then it picks up out by miners and the mosquito...hot spot this spring has been by washington creek...my 2 cents
    2. Tim Steinmetz
There were a few ice chunks floating, but not many. I would imagine every now and then one of those house-sized ice chunks hanging on the cliffs lets go catastrophically ...more though. That must be something to see! All of the sheltered areas were skimmed over with a thin sheet of ice that morning, so the boat made a really weird noise as it cut through the ice at high speed!
    3. Morris Campbell
Still quite a few chunks floating???
    4. Morris Campbell
Superior is so wild looking!! Beautiful!!!
    5. Nice place
    6. Tim Steinmetz
That water is at least 32.1 degrees, Morris! Okay, maybe it's only 32.01 degrees . . .
    7. Morris Campbell
      Looks cool...cold

About

Hello! My name is Tim. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I fish for anything that bites on both ice and open water. I especially enjoy ...more picking apart waterways in search of trophy fish. I would rather catch one big fish than 100 little fish. Some of my favorite species include walleye, pike, smallmouth bass, and lake trout. I enjoy documenting my fishing adventures through photographs and videos. I graduated from Michigan Technological University in 2015. I currently work full-time as a mechanical engineer. Aside from fishing, I also enjoy hunting, skiing, photography, and researching advanced topics of theoretical physics, such as the quest for a unified field theory.
