On vacation in Miami right now wishing I was fishing!!! I'm looking for places to catch big game fish offshore or inshore snook. Also, what to use for bait.

    1. adaj johnson 0
what is the address there could i fish there with out any problem
    2. ThatOneFisher 0
      Thanks @AFTICA2_FISHING_TEAM
    3. AFTICA2_FISHING_TEAM 0
And ask them where are the dolphin offshore what depth and how many miles out and ask them what to use
    4. AFTICA2_FISHING_TEAM 0
There is no spots offshore unless deep dropping cause dolphin and wahoo and marlin and sailfish are all migratory which means they constantly swim to different areas ...more just ask a captain or tackle shop

  2. Spent a few hours fishing at 91st, didn't catch anything good but I still had a good time. Saw one other guy hook into a giant drum, but that's about all ...more the action we saw at the pier. I'm in the middle of a huge dry streak right now. No, like HUGE. I haven't caught anything big since March! Do I just pick bad days to fish or what?

    Blacktip Shark

    1. ThatOneFisher 0
Oh wait I read that wrong lol. When are you going*?
    2. Reel_Smooth 0

Thanks @bassinboy01 @Cowboy713 @kisbass. When are yall going?
    4. Jacob Breaux 0
It happens bro! Especially pier fishing, gotta time it perfectly and use the right stuff. If you really want to break the dry spell, come fishing with me, and stay ...more away from @Reel_Smooth and @ReelGame
    5. kisbass 0
I had one for Almosta. Full year lol
    6. Chris Skinner 0

@GunnerNewberry Okay, thanks. Good to know considering we'll be heading up there in a couple of days.
    2. Gunner Newberry 0
      @fishinggal super quick!
    3. fishinggal 0
@GunnerNewberry The roads drain pretty quickly there?
    4. Keiotta 0
      in
    5. Keiotta 0
yeah we were Bless un Houston this time, the storm stayed west of us, but a lot of our western cities are getting pounded with heavy rain
    6. AllWaterLife 0
There's more rain coming. Check the 'dar
    7. ThatOneFisher 0
I'm not on bolivar at this moment @GunnerNewberry. I just pin pointed where the meet up was. I'm in Houston.
    8. Gunner Newberry 0
I know right where your pin is you can't get on the beach. Agree the media hyped it up but at the beach normal high spring tide mixed with small storm surge ...more caused some minor flooding.
    9. ThatOneFisher 0
      There's nothing where I am.
    10. Gunner Newberry 0
Where you at on the peninsula? Definitely flooded pretty good in a couple areas and last I heard 87 was still closed down by high island
    11. ReelFishnTx 0
That's hilarious man! I turned off my sprinklers for nothing!
    12. Reel_Smooth 0
      😂😂😂😂
    13. Geoffrey Polefko 0
I know it's not even wet under the cars in my driveway.
    14. ThatOneFisher 0
The wind is stirring up the surf a lot so not really. @garrettjweiss
    15. garrett weiss 0
      Oh fishing still good
    16. ThatOneFisher 0
Yea, the news kinda hyped it. The wind is kinda bad though. @garrettjweiss
    17. garrett weiss 0
So it's not even bad lol @ThatOneFisher

  5. I hear whiting, mullet, crab and shad are all good, but which is the best for bull reds?

Red (redfish) Drum with a Bull Redfish Bait

    1. randall2222 0
      I agree with @bassinboy01
    2. ThatOneFisher 0
      Thanks bro. @bassinboy01
    3. Jacob Breaux 0
You're golden. I'd buy / catch mullet and shrimp. Put mullet out, then depending how you do with mullet, try the whiting / croaker you catch with the shrimp.
    4. ThatOneFisher 0
      Thanks @Texas_Slam
    5. Texas_Slam 0
Whiting and mullet are the top producers but when you get live shad and cut it on the spot, you have some good bait.
    6. ThatOneFisher 0
@bassinboy01 thanks. What I usually do is just buy some shrimp and catch whiting and croaker and put it on the hook. Is this technique good or should I just buy ...more some mullet?
    7. Jacob Breaux 0
Whichever one they're eating. Lol varies day to day bro. Best bet is to use whatever is in the surf. I'd start with mullet

  8. I had to take some line off of my reel because of a horrible backlash. Is this enough topshot? I have 300 yards of 50 pound braid below this, but I don't want ...more to have to replace that.

Red (redfish) Drum with a Backlash

    1. liamqureshi 0
      Ok
    2. ThatOneFisher 0
Idk, I just filled my reel with 300 yards of 50 pound braid, and just put in mono the rest of the way. Maybe like 80-100 yds. @liamqureshi
    3. liamqureshi 0
How much mono do you have
    4. ThatOneFisher 0
@bassinboy01 today I was able to cast 60 yards and I didn't get a backlash during my casts! With a little more practice I bet I can get up to 80.
    5. ThatOneFisher 0
@bassinboy01 I don't think I'm gonna be casting anytime soon with this weather lol. If not raining today after Church I will try.
    6. Jacob Breaux 0
Are you still having trouble casting or is it getting better?
    7. ThatOneFisher 0
      Thanks @bassinboy01
    8. Jacob Breaux 0
It'll be a little easier to cast now actually
    9. Jacob Breaux 0
You should really ever replace the braid. But yea you're good
    10. ThatOneFisher 0
Thanks @Texas_Slam . I was just worried because I used to have it all the way filled up.
    11. Texas_Slam 0
      your fine bro

  9. Details: Black Drum with a Shrimp on a small circle hook

First drum ever! Woohoo! Not a monster, but man did he fight. Conditions were really nice, 10mph wind and flat water. Crab wasn't working so I decided to put ...more shrimp on my line because that's what everyone else was catching them on and boom! Happy Easter everyone, Jesus Christ has risen!

    1. UknownBeast 0
Nice catch! And AMEN bro! Jesus HAS risen! @ThatOneFisher
    2. UknownBeast 0
Nice catch! And AMEN bro! Jesus has risen!
    3. ThatOneFisher 0
@j_reyes from the side or directly behind?
    4. j_reyes 0
yeah swing as hard as I can too 😂😂
    5. ThatOneFisher 0
@j_reyes how do you cast? Do you just put the weight on the ground behind you and chuck it?
    6. j_reyes 0
that's how I have mine I guess you just gotta practice lol
    7. ThatOneFisher 0
      Thanks @Texas_Slam
    8. Texas_Slam 0
nice. didn't do too good at the pier yesterday.
    9. ThatOneFisher 0
      @j_reyes
    10. ThatOneFisher 0
300 yards of 50 pound braid. The rest 30 pound mono
    11. j_reyes 0
how do you have it spooled?
    12. ThatOneFisher 0
:o @j_reyes what am I doing wrong? Lol
    13. j_reyes 0
      I use the 10' 20-50lb class heavy
    14. j_reyes 0
yeah I can get to my braid backin on a good cast I have about 90-100yds of topshot too
    15. ThatOneFisher 0
      Thanks @j_reyes @Surf_Monkey
    16. Surf_Monkey 0
Also, since your gonna use a heavier surf weight, try doubling up your line about 10-15' as a shock leader. Helps to not break the line with all that weight
    17. Surf_Monkey 0
I used to have a 9' FTU Hvy action & threw an 8oz surf weight plus bait. That rod can take it. Once you get it balanced out, you'll be able to get more ...more distance.
    18. j_reyes 0
on and it depends on how you have it spooled too
    19. j_reyes 0
oh it all depends I throw 5oz on my sx on my mxl I throw anywhere from 6-8oz.
    20. ThatOneFisher 0
      @j_reyes
    21. ThatOneFisher 0
I already use 5 oz plus a large bait. How heavy should I make my sinker?
    22. j_reyes 0
use a heavier weight to get a better cast
    23. ThatOneFisher 0
9 foot FTU surf Rod. @j_reyes
    24. j_reyes 0
everyone starts some where Lol. what rod you got your avet paired up with?
    25. ThatOneFisher 0
      Thanks @Reel_Smooth

    28. ReelGame Saucedo 0
      Congratulations on your first drum
    29. ThatOneFisher 0
      Thanks man. @bassinboy01
    30. Jacob Breaux 0
need to make it between the guts. 40 yards is about a cast standing on the first bar going into the second gut.
    31. Jacob Breaux 0
Don't get discouraged by other people saying they cast 100+ yards. I think a lot of them are just bs'ing up a number. Lol. You only need to be able to cast ...more as far as you need to. In the surf, just
    32. ThatOneFisher 0
Thanks! I measured my casts the other day and I got 40 yards out of it. I think I just need to practice some more. @bassinboy01
    33. Jacob Breaux 0
Congrats bud! How's casting hat avet treating you?

  10. Details: Koi with a Bread on a free lined hook

Really big koi I caught yesterday. I use the same rig for carp, so this is nothing new lol. Small ball of bread free lined with a split shot on 8 pound test. I put ...more some slack in my line and when it pulled very slowly I set the hook. I caught this same Koi last year, and I think it grew a bit. lol
