    5. SmackDaddy 0
@ethan_aaron...I don't give out locations. I gave a general layout of conditions, bottom and water depth, not telling people any more than that.

Harder than you think! They can peel some drag. You know it is a trout the way they circle you and peel drag in short hard runs. You can feel their tail beating ...more through the rod tip. Nothing compares.
    6. michaelmillan1 0
I've never caught a speck over 24". How do the big ones fight?

Dirty water...some say dark colors, some say bright colors...I think it has more to do with presentation than bright or dark but there are days when color is very ...more critical. I like pink or pearl/black.

  7. Details: Spotted (Speckled) Trout with a Texas Chicken Fatboy

Upgraded my personal best length yesterday @ 28 1/4" and she was a little on the light side @ 7# but it was a great day on the water. I also caught a 25" ...more 5# a few minutes later plus a 26" redfish and a few other average trout. My buddy caught 22" 4.5#. Fishing outgoing tide over 3.5' mud/grass mix with lots of mullet. They were coming up out of the ICW to bask in the warming mud and munch mullet.

No problem bmftom, no offense taken. I am ready to break 30".
    3. bmftom 0
Lol. I'm joking about the spots. I don't even tell my mama my spots. Cool idea with the sling. I bet they would sell.
    4. SmackDaddy 0
That is a wading sling I made. Nothing better on the market YET.
    5. SmackDaddy 0
No it was not at tide gauge. Sorry, we don't give away location, it cost too much and we put too much work and time in to do that. I do not mind telling patterns ...more but that is it.
    6. bmftom 0
And could you please post better pics where I can see the background more clearly? Haha
    7. bmftom 0
Is that a wade belt that you wear over a shoulder, or is it made to be worn like that?
    8. Wyatt12 0
Did you catch that fish on the tide gage bar
    9. Wyatt12 0
      Was that today?

    11. SmackDaddy 0
Laguna Custom Rod, yes. They are hands down my favorite rod builders because the blanks are made only for Laguna and they are built in Katy, TX by some good old ...more boys. The best custom rods around IMO.
    12. Collin Gay 0
Is that a Laguna madre rod?

About

I love to catch many species of fish but my passion is wading for large speckled trout and sight casting redfish from my poling skiff.
