So.. I'm sure a lot of people are sick of the selfies and bickering on here lately.. I know I am.. Only thing to do is to post your own fish pic!! One of the ...more many 8lb+ Walters from this fall.. Unfortunately we still do not have safe ice! To deal with this.. Made a new Instagram page with 4 other anglers from Nebraska called PigPatrol.. We would all appreciate it A LOT if you checked it out.

    1. MichiganFishing 0
What a beauty! We don't have safe ice either, here it's been mixed, it gets nice and cold then warms up its very irritating
    2. jason felter 0
      Okay thanks for your help
    3. Ratfish 0
They feed all year round, on all sorts of baits. If the later is that cold, you will almost have to use ice fishing tactics, and fish vertically. Could be off a ...more boat or a dock. @fishin_man
    4. jason felter 0
Of water. Do they shut down at all and feed less or are they active all year?
    5. jason felter 0
And I may be incorrect the water temp is probably a bit colder more like 33 so I was just wondering if having a boat would up my chances to catch any or if it is ...more pretty well impossible in this cold
    6. jason felter 0
I fished from the shore on Sunday. And used grubs, live minnows, jerkbaits, soft paddle tail swimbaits... All fished pretty slow on the bottom, and I didn't ...more get anything!! Not even a nibble or a bump!
    7. Ratfish 0
I caught most of mine on very aggressive retrieves, 38-48 degree, 6-15' water. You can easily catch them, pre ice, and on ice. Just use slower smaller presentations. ...more Rattle baits should still work to.
    8. jason felter 0
Is it possible to catch them in those conditions? If so how??
    9. jason felter 0
How do you catch walleyes in lakes over the winter, I'm talking before the ice come. I want to catch one but have no clue how to. It is freezing and the water ...more temps are really low too. (30-38 degrees)

Skinny 27" Walter from the other night. Storm with heavy winds rolling in from the North. Caught on an erratic ripping retrieve. Have been ripping up hard 3 ...more times, then adding a double rip at the top of the third. Every fish has hit a few feet under the surface after a double rip. Absolutely choked the bait, but was fine, and released unharmed. MH Varitas, Quantum Smoke, 14lb Suffix Elite.

Cold front and storms moving in from the north. 45 degrees and starting to rain. Usually I only seem to get the big bites right before dusk. Swallowed the lipless ...more crank bait on an erratic retrieve. Have been catching a lot of smaller fish on minnows and Swedish Pimples. A little over 27" and the skinniest fish of the year for me. Released. MH Varitas, Quantum Smoke, 14lb Suffix Elite

Typed it in, but it won't come up! @MulletHead @bassinboy01 1/4oz Strike King Redeye Shad, Chrome Sexy Shad

My new PB, and probably will be for awhile. Nearly 31" and the fattest walleye I have ever seen. Forgot the scale, any guess on weight? Caught it in 10-12', ...more ripping the bait up and down through the water column. All of a sudden I went to rip, and all I felt was dead weight. Landed it solo, without a net. Was one of the most nerve racking moments ever. MH Varitas, Quantum Smoke, 14lb Suffix Elite.

Second walleye from the best fishing day of life. All fish were caught and released mid last week. Got a 28.5", 29" and a 30"+. Big baits, fast and ...more erratic retrieve, cold front with thunderstorms. When the water is cooling, storms are coming in, a faster retrieve or "stop and go" retrieve is key for big fish. Heading out today to try to stick a few more big Walters. MH Varitas, Quantum Smoke

    1. Ratfish 0
@walleyegod Let me know how it goes! I just randomly tried it one day. Been trying ever since and the cold front, and winds seem to be key. If it's calmer I ...more would try a slower presentation. Good luck!
    2. Jake Pedersen 0
I got some new baits I'm gunna take out and trytry to get some hogs like this one

My PB out of the city lake for the year at 22.5", 7-3. She was nice and healthy, clearly has been feeling up for winter. I have been catching a lot of fish ...more on Squarebills and lipless cranks. In the shallows and off the rocks. This is the only bite I caught from deep water. Came off a tree in 10-12'. Was considerably larger than the fish that have moved shallow. MH Varitas, Revo S40, 30lb Power Pro

    1. King_Fisher 0
Yeah but the lake that the world record was cuaght out of would definitely be a spot to go.
    2. Ratfish 0
Definitely is on the bucket list! Would be hard to fish for bass in china though.. Too many large fish to choose from! @King_Fisher

A cool shot of a 5+ I caught slowly working a chigger craw through deep structure. Hooked a big fish in the same spot a day before, but ended up breaking 30lb Power ...more Pro. Clipped off a decent amount of "faded" line, and went back out. This time she didn't get so lucky. Retrieved both hooks and let her swim to fight another day.
