  3. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Deep Rattlin' Flat Wart 50

First fish of 2014! Stoked! 1/2 pound 13" light wind slow current and water temp is pretty cold haha wasnt even sure he hit for a sec

    1. Calvin Fease 0
@LivewellHero @wyldechylde77 I agree. That's definitely a spot, but if it was more difficult to tell, look for the connected dorsal fins, cheek scales, and mouth ...more length like @wyldechylde77 suggested.
    2. Jacob Breaux 0
      Nice fish and info!
    3. Chuck LaBruna 0
@KaylaG20 Wow...I haven't been called a "boy" in probably 20+ years now. I'm 36 LOL. But thank you, I feel the same as when I get ID'd for ...more alcohol LMAO!! Again, nice job on the bass, girl (haha) 😉
    4. KaylaG20 0
Haha thanks @wyldechylde77 I figured id let you boys decide what type of bass it was cause i had no clue if it was a spot or largemouth
    5. Chuck LaBruna 0
      LOL...either way, nice job @KaylaG20 😉
    6. Christian Holyoak 0
It is definitely a tricky angle @wyldechylde77
    7. Chuck LaBruna 0
@LivewellHero And that's a good thing, bro. Your eyes can automatically see the small differences based on your experiences. I agree, I do think it is a Spot, ...more but it's so hard to tell at that angle.
    8. Christian Holyoak 0
      ...pretty different
    9. Christian Holyoak 0
I'm just gonna be honest @wyldechylde77 , for me, it's just not hard at all to distinguish a spot from a largemouth. I've caught a ton of each. Sometimes ...more they may look similar, but they just both...
    10. Chuck LaBruna 0
..reference. Largemouth Bass can sometimes have these patches as well, so it is an unreliable way to identify the species.
    11. Chuck LaBruna 0
If the cheek scales are the same size as the body scales, it's a Largemouth. If the jaw extends past the eye, it's a Largemouth. If not, it's a Spot. ...more Do not use the tooth patch on the tongue for..
    12. Chuck LaBruna 0
If the bridge between dorsal fins clearly connect, it is a Spotted Bass. If not, or too "deep" to tell, it's a Largemouth. If the cheek scales are ...more smaller than the scales on the body, it's a Spot.
    13. Christian Holyoak 0
@wyldechylde77 I've caught many a spot. And yes, it's hard to tell from this pic. But, I'm going off of the belly and head. But, obviously, I can't ...more look for teeth on its tongue or see its jaw clearly
    14. Chuck LaBruna 0
...a Largemouth Bass. It's real tough to tell in this picture, but does the bridge between the dorsal fins clearly connect or is it spaced? Are the cheek scales ...more uniform or smaller than the rest? Ans:
    15. Chuck LaBruna 0
@LivewellHero @wolfman You boys just going on looks and assumption? Because it's not that easy. The pic makes it tough to tell, but there are two very easy ways ...more to distinquish a Spotted Bass from..
    16. Calvin Wolf 0
Yeah I agree with @LivewellHero looks like a spot to me
    17. Christian Holyoak 0
Hard to tell from the picture, but I'm pretty certain that is a spot. Mainly based on the horizontal dotted stripes down its belly.

    7. Chris Skinner 0
Lol very true, though were not sure that Medina will ever fully recover
    8. KaylaG20 0
The only good thing about the lake being low is you get to see where all the channels and groves the bass will be in next summer :) @Cowboy713
    9. Chris Skinner 0
Oh I know how you feel lol one I my favorite lakes is 90+ feet low right now haha, luckily we can drive down to the water :) lol

    15. KaylaG20 0
na the hardest part was finding 14" bike wheels for a cheap price. Just find out how tall you want it to stand cut the PVC zip tie it and get some 90 degree ...more angles to create the tops and wala
