1. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Watermelon Red Zoom Fluke; Black/Yellow Spro Poppin' Frog

The fish were bunched up in hay grass and pepper grass. The water levels are still high, but new grass has grown up and it is filled with bait fish. Quantity came ...more shallow, quality came deep.

  3. Details: Largemouth Bass with a 3/16oz Shakie head paired with a black Zoom Trick Worm

Super high and muddy water but still managed a 3rd place finish!

  4. Details: Largemouth Bass with a 6" drop shot with black zoom trick worm; American Rodsmiths 7' 2" medium fast

Just another one to add to the list of giants out of Lake Raven!

    1. Adam Adam 0
      Awesome appreciate the info!
    2. DillonHarrellFishing 0
A few little ones are on beds. Not gonna catch many doing that though. On a good day I will average 10-15 fish. Average weight will be 3-5 pounds. Sometimes I'll ...more catch one or two big ones.
    3. Adam Adam 0
As far as numbers go what are you averaging? And are they still on beds?
    4. DillonHarrellFishing 0
I'll tell you this; raven is a phenomenal lake. However, it is extremely hard to learn. Those fish literally see every bait out there. Gotta change your ways ...more to find the good ones!
    5. Adam Adam 0
I've still yet to get myself out there, I'm doing too well at Fayette to convince myself to try raven lol
    6. DillonHarrellFishing 0
      I'm guessing it was about 6 1/2 or 7! @Robinhood

  5. Details: Largemouth Bass with a 7' American Rodsmiths; 15lb flourocarbon; 1/2 oz biffle head w/ black neon biffle bug

Small throwback to last summer on Sam Rayburn. This was the last day of practice before the tournament that we won the next day!

  6. What bait would you use if you were given the following circumstances? ***The water temp is in the upper 60's. You are in a lake with a lot of hydrilla and ...more a sandy bottom. The water is fairly clear, and is about 2-6 foot deep. It is sunny and continuing to warm up as the day goes on.*** What would you do?

    1. charlielewis_ 0
      Frog
    2. Jbird_401 0
Try a chatterbait or swim jig. Chatterbaits are amazing reaction baits in the weeds
    3. Brandon Booth 0
as the sun gets up I'd flip the holes in the grass @bassinboy01
    4. Brandon Booth 0
Id throw a soft plastic like a senko or fluke. if its spring I'd look for a bed fish with the water being in the 60s. Then just work the inside or outside grass ...more line and find where the fish are
    5. Brandon alt 0
      Weightless senko or square bill
    6. AllWaterLife 0
I pretty much ruled out deeper hard baits because of the hydrilla. Maybe 2-4' cranks but idk bout lipless. Split shot rigged 4-5" senkos, let em sink then ...more pop pop. Maybe a spinner bait
    7. Jimmy_Lynch 0
Lipless Crank and a wacky rigged Senko.
    8. Jacob Breaux 0
I like these kind of blerts man. Keep it up. πŸ‘πŸ‘
    9. Jacob Breaux 0
      @ChanceHuiet @aggiebasser
    10. Jacob Breaux 0
If I can get them to bite a frog, you bet that's what I'll be throwing. If not, weightless trick worm. Wind picks up, and I'll throw a trap or squarebill ...more over the grass. All else fails, flip it all.

  8. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Alabama Rig

A lot of bass angers don't throw an Alabama Rig because they think it makes them look too "amateur." My point of view is, whatever puts 5 in my live ...more well is what I'm going to throw. What are your thoughts? What is the biggest bass you have caught using the A-Rig?

    1. TennesseeTroutboy 0
I don't see it as an amateur bait but the exact opposite
    2. dgrabe217 0
Two bass weighed in together at 9 lbs
    3. dgrabe217 0
I often catch fish on them and I enjoy throwing them, but I only throw them in open water. I have had several double ups and one triple up. My biggest is ~7 lbs ...more but I have had a double up where the
    4. Collin Collin 0
I would definitely throw an A-rig more often but don't have a boat to get out to most catchable bass. That and a completely set up A-rig will set you back at ...more least $20
    5. Brandon alt 0
      @bassinboy01
    6. Brandon Booth 0
@BrandonScottAlt I use them but not often. They do catch fish. Give it a shot
    7. Brandon alt 0
@ChanceHuiet @aggiebasser I have no clue if Yall have ever thrown an A-Rig but thought I'd give it a shot

The fish are hot and heavy on beds! This 6 pound STUD was one of the best caught today. High winds didn't bother me one bit!

I saw a small bit of hydrilla coming back. Some pads are popping up but not many. They hyacinth has taken over that lake BIG TIME.
    5. Jacob Breaux 0
