On the bank like all my beloved gar are I have found 15 that would be over 10 lbs dead and rotten in the last few months where people caught them and threw them ...more on the bank
    2. Laine Dillard 0
They make great eating on the half shell don't know why every one hates the but all this is coming from the guy who HATES walleye and trout tho great fish at ...more least he's still swimming and not dead...
    3. Mako369 0
I can definitely tell it's not a red now, awesome fish!
    4. ChrisA 0
Agreed. They put up a good fight, but are not good for eating.
    5. David Schmitt 0
I grew up calling them sheepshead and I know there I'm the family so either way there fun to catch and release. Not worth arguing over
    6. Laine Dillard 0
Yea they are similar to black drum look alike act alike taste identical but not sheepshead
    7. ChrisA 0
@lainedillard They're basically the same fish. One is a black drum and one if a freshwater drum.
    8. Laine Dillard 0
@ChrisA just bc they are related doesn't mean there close
    9. ChrisA 0
@lainedillard sheephead is just what all Michiganders call them. The saltwater sheephead and freshwater drum are relatives.
    10. Laine Dillard 0
Yea around Ohio they call 'em white perch and will cuss you for keeping them @ChrisA and @DavidSchmitt there not even close to the same thing
    11. David Schmitt 0
      sheepshead is a freshwater drum
    12. ChrisA 0
@lainedillard up north we call the freshwater drum sheephead.
    13. Laine Dillard 0
It's a fresh water drum not a sheepshead
    14. j_reyes 0
looks as if a redfish , black drum , and sheep head had a baby & this was the product lol

    1. David Schmitt 0
i'm not sure why we call them sheapshead up here in Michigan but every one does. In the future I'll refer to them as fresh water drum
