Caught in the surf this morning. Water was rough and semi green. Swells hit my face on the second bar. Started flattening out as day went on and was somewhat calm ...more by 11:00. Birds started working around 9:00 but they were out past the third sandbar in deep water. I got lucky and they came within casting distance and I hooked into this fat girl. Pulled drag like a red

Caught this shark along with 2 others yesterday. Stayed at the beach all day. Caught 7 trout, a drum, and a mess of whiting in the morning on shrimp. Then paddled ...more out the big lines. Total of 3 sharks and a 25 inch smack in the afternoon, all on 8 inch mullet yakked past the 3rd bar. Green water all the way to the beach and schools of mullet were in by the thousands

Me and my buddy were both exempt from our finals so we decided to take a trip out to the surf while it was flat. Water was great! It was a little cold from the northern ...more that blew in but it helped to flatten it out. We couldn't find any big schools of trout like we had hoped. Didn't catch any fish under birds. Ended the day with 4 trout, 1 drum, and 10 good sized whiting

Details: Alligator Gar
Was at my buddy's bayhouse near SLP when we saw this gar swimming on the surface. He wouldn't bite anything we threw at him but he was close enough to simply ...more scoop him in a net. After we got a closer look, we saw that he was missing lots of scales, his fins were torn up, and his mouth was bleeding. We quickly took a pic and released him. Any ideas to what was wrong with him?
