1. Details: Brook Trout with a Misquito imitation dry fly

Did a little fly fishing on a backpacking trip in the Rockies last week with la familia. Caught brook trout in the double digits. They were eating up dry flies like ...more it was nobody's business. Really fun to fight these fish on a little 3wt fly rod. Maybe video up soon

  2. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Zoom trick worm (Brown w green tail) on a 4/0 hook with a 1/4 oz bullet weight

Threw a small Swimbait and some cranks looking for fish on fast baits but eventually I gave in and started throwing slow. As soon as I did, I was catching every ...more few casts. I'm a fast fishing kinda guy but even I realize that sometimes those slow, light plastics are very necessary for catching fish. Sorry for the long arm btw, fish was probably just under 3.

Caught a few good fish in the creek today. One off a bed, one off a rocky bank, and another off a rock flat. These fish are very active late/post spawn. Getcha some ...more and enjoy the vid in the bait description.

  4. Details: Largemouth Bass with a H2O 2-4' crank

Casted the crank out and the line got all friendly with the hooks so I'm reeling the crank in on top of the water and this fish comes up and sucks it in.. Interesting ...more catch but a catch nonetheless. Exact opposite of luck if you ask me.

  6. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Ribbit frog on a split shot rig w a 4/0

Yeah, split shot rigged ribbit frog. I used this set up today because beds. The falling action on a ribbit frog is ridiculous and the legs put off vibration. Another ...more thing the legs do: create drag. They take away from the hydrodynamics of the bait which makes them hard to move/slow. This is key when blind fishing for bedding base because you don't want to pull your bait away too fast.

  7. Prom last night, woke up this morn at the beach house and hit the beach with the whole group. Yakked out with em (no rods) and found this ~25-30" drum floating ...more around. Grabbed him and brought him in. Tried to revive him but no luck, so I took him far past the 3rd bar and dropped him for the charks.

  10. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Chartreuse 4in senko on a 4/0 with a splitshot

Females were out today. Caught this nice fish and one other both up shallow. Just lightly twitching this senko and letting it sit for a sec. Slow fishing but lots ...more of fish to be had. I was only around 20 mins and caught a couple nice fish.
