1. This is a picture of our day one launch of a one week canoe trip in the Boundary Waters. Our paddle and portage time was 6 1/2 hours to camp with four canoes and ...more 8 people.
Sorry about not having any battery life in my cell for fish pics, but that's how it goes when you leave your charger in the truck. 😏 🐟 🐟 🐟 😋
We had a great time, caught enough small mouth bass for dinner. One of the guys hooked his biggest ever Northern Pike 34" using a top water popper. All the kids caught fish and had a blast.
Great place to enjoy nature, camp, explore and fish.

  3. Biggest catfish Brian has caught ever. We were fishing inside the heated dock area. He had a plastic crappie bait with a crappie candy. His pole was a light medium ...more 6'6". The fish weighed in at 8.5 pounds, and put up a great fight on this light tackle.

  4. We fished the Melvern Lake Marina dock slips.

  5. I took my daughter-in-law and 8 year old grandson from California to the Melverne Lake Marina so they could try crappie fishing. We had a great day, as you can see ...more by the picture and caught a few crappie. My grandson was so excited every time he or someone else caught a fish in the heated dock room that we all could hear him out on the slips. It was great hearing all the stories from the guys fishing out there about their own kids or grand kids that this stirred up. While we were in the enclosed dock it started to bang around like a big wind storm was going on. I asked some of the guys what the heck was going on and they said it was Gar fish banging up against the sides of the dock. Sure enough they started to swim around where we could see them and needless to say my grandson got the biggest kick out of it. He even snagged one and I think the whole world knew about it as he yelled out he caught a ""CIGAR"". LOL.
We had a great time and made a great memory.
Thanks to all the regulars out there that made our day a bit more fun, hope we did the same for you all.

  6. We moved up and down the shore in depths between 15 and 19 feet. Casting towards shore with a slow retrieval back to the boat. This was my 8 year old grandsons first ...more time in a bass boat and he had a blast. he also caught a few bass and a drum that gave him a good fight. This was a great memory for both of us.
Thanks Joe for taking us out in your boat, it was a blast and the fish dinner was fantastic.
