    2. Iโ€™m new to this ocean thing. Iโ€™ve only fished out of Galveston I donโ€™t know anything about the port or Madagorta. I would like to fish them though if you ever get ...more held up for a partner let me know if like to try my hand in new areas.

Good catch, last week I went to Port Aransas to fish for some big fish and literally caught nothing but small pinfish and a few spadefish, I don't know what ...more I was doing wrong but I tried cutbait and got a couple bites but nothing and then I tried live bait and nothing. I fished at the jetties, bridges, and piers. I was surprised that I had caught no big fish. Planning on going again and go big game this time!

  2. Had a blast today. Could not make it out to the rigs so had to stay inshore

    Galveston

  3. Had a great day yesterday. We took a chance and drove 26 miles out to a oil rig. Lost some fish we could not control trolling lures dressed with squid. Caught lots ...more of small snapper and just kept what we would eat. All in all I learned so much about the ocean first and foremost donโ€™t go to the rig without the right equipment and bait

freshwater drum do not fair well on the table. They are scavengers and they are what they eat. Saltwater drum black or red are really good but if you want them to ...more really taste good bleed them before the cooler or you will be cutting out red meat. Kinda like strippers. Also white bass.

Karl, Question, I know a redfish is saltwater and so maybe different taste etc. I catch a ton of freshwater drum but have never eaten one. Have you ever done so? ...more I haven;'t met anyone here on Conroe who keeps them and eats them. They are a riot to catch and fairly easily, but I am not sure about prepping them for the table. Any thoughts?
