1. 5/21/2018 Caught, tagged and released a 19" sea robin and 18" bluefish in Manasquan Inlet, NJ, Monday evening. Robin hit an Ava A17. Blue hit a teaser ...more and bit off my main leader. Lost my Ava. I may return this evening. This was the first sea robin that I ever tagged.

    4. Kenneth Olivo 0
That's cool I've never seen a lizard like that
    5. BTW we all post some non-fish stuff from time to time :) Part of being a "Fishidy" lets people know you're more than a passionate fisherman or fishergal ...more :) LOL And, let's us all know that you think like us about other things in the right ratio >>>> Fishing 99% of the time Other things 1% of the time LOL LOL LOL
    6. That's neat :) Glad it was that and not a rattlesnake YIKES LOL
    7. NiKo D. 0
there common yet can be elusive. they are not toads either, rather chubby lizards named by their round bloated defense. ive only ever actually seen a few in my ...more 20yrs in NM peraonally, but this one seems very chill. brought her home since its flood season and ill release her into an old chicken coop to desimate some insects.
    8. NiKo D. 0
thanx Capt! I'm glad no one has been crappy about me posting something non-fish! just waved to share a little desert wildlife with everyone.
    9. Capt Morris Campbell 0
      Cool!!!
    10. NiKo D. 0
only the horns on the back of its head are sharp or hardened, prolly attached to its skull. everything on the side is rather soft. softer than most fish with spines!
    11. Kenneth Olivo 0
      Are there horns sharp?
    12. Kenneth Olivo 0
      Nice!!

  3. ADVICE PLEASE!!! please take a look and read! the photo is a stock photo of the north flats campground. Primitive camping is allowed along the entire lake shore, ...more so I'll explore b4 setup. warm water conditions, about an 8mi area lake with a river dam at the Rio Grande. Unsure of the depth. Trout has been good to me in most creeks and resevoirs, but really hoping to catch something different! Fish stocking reports Crappie, Bass, Walleye, and Cats. its a lesser fished lake (compared to Elephant Butte), but I am without a boat, so I'll attempt some float fishing and trying to spot some places to wade. I'll be there 2days, and willing to hike and explore. I am not limited to just the resevoir. I may end up in the river headed to Mexico! please comment if u have any tips!! my tackle box is ready and equipped for suggestions!

    first time at new camp!

Has nobody caught a freakin fish since May?! How about updating the site, guys?
    2. For Walleye, from the bank try 3/4 oz egg weight above a swivel. On the other end a 4 foot leader with a FLOATING green or bright yellow jig. Tip with a minnow or ...more night-crawler. Set your pole in a holder and wait. Try right next to a break point. In your pic I see two good break or POINTS I'd try. Good luck!

  4. didnt expect a crawdad could actually put up a fight for something so small. I was very surprised. got this guy off a pier near a beaver nursery. the baby beavers ...more made a ruckus after I pulled him from the water. I gave them back their lunch later 😌

4 in. Crayfish with a powerbait

    1. I kept one as a pet from last season. Named him Jerry :) LOL
  5. where the river narrows but deepens with larger rocks and pockets. I climbed over an abandoned beaver mound and fought what I believe was the biggest fish ive ever ...more had on my line. this is where "the one" got away! fought him going back and forth up stream and back behind a submerged rock for about 20mins before he snapped my (then) only handmedown rod from an old shed. thats when I started taking fishing a bit more seriously. invested in a better rod and I will return one day! Quite a few lessons learned that day!

Not only lessons learned but also will make success that much sweeter! What's the saying? If first not successful, try, try again!!!

  10. First fish of the year. Only my second lake trout. Much heavier than my (river) Brown's from Shoestring Shoals in AR last fall. Note: Grindstone Lake of ...more Ruidoso, NM is not listed as a waterway on this app. It is a stocked reservoir and I marked it's actual location in the details.

About

I'm a mom looking forward to my son learning how to fish and going camping with me and the dog :) Just here to enjoy everything fishing and ...more outdoors. I from Southwest New Mexico and first learned to fly fish at a young age but forgot over my life how much I love it. So back at it and trying new things and really hoping to broaden my horizons.
