I hear ya. Last week, I had a muskie on and panicked, trying to figure out how I was gonna get him up on the wharf. For some reason, I thought I had enough momentum ...more to flip him up. The line snapped halfway on the swing. DOH!
    6. Rick S 0
Thanks Jim.. sadly I lost 2 others that were similar in size..one just threw the jig and the other I got stupid and tried to just swing him in the boat. Stupid stupid.
    7. Rick S 0
Thanks Nick..it was eating good I suspect....pretty chunky for its length
    8. Nick Bridge 0

    2. Rick S 0
Jay, I'm throwing the 5 inch Senko and Big Bite Baits. Rigged Neko Style, 1/16 lead nail weight, O-ring and a weedless Trokar hook.
    3. Jay Kuciak 0
That lake has some beautiful sunsets as well. Lucky to have it so close. Hey Rick what size senko have you been having luck with? Are you rigging whacky or Texas, ...more weighted? Thanks! I tend to go Texas weightless but wondering how you've been getting them.

10 lb. 8 oz. Channel Catfish with a Swim jig

    1. Rodney King 0
      Great pic
    2. Yea, my dad says if you can't land it out of the rivers w 8lb test & proper drag, you cheating. Lol. I appreciate that but also don't enjoy tempting ...more fate. Everything I have is 15lb & below. I use size 2,6,8 hooks. Just converted to leaders due to the Ohio rivers appetite for destroying my gear. Never used them in my life. I tie hooks faster than I can say it. Not that I want to spend my nights doing so. Lol.
    3. Rick S 0
I should buy some chicken livers and spend some time just cat fishing. They put up a pretty good fight if the tackle is not too heavy.
    4. One things for sure, if you're having a bad day fishing & you need to renew your self esteem, this is the way to do it. Ha.
    5. I have yet to find something that doesn't work down here, from rotten lunch meat all the way to captain crunch. And I'm not kidding. I almost try to find ...more something I can't use as catfish bait. Lmao. As long as it's weighted down & it's after dark, apparently they're starving.....lol.
    6. Rick S 0
We've caught a few on spinnerbaits also!
    7. danny davila 0
is there anything that a catfish won't eat? everything from kool-aid hotdogs and funky meats and the occasional swim jig.
    8. Rick S 0
Your right Jeff it was a lot of fun
    9. jeff mcelroy 0
always a nice surprise while bass fishing
    10. Rick S 0
      Thanks Kari
    11. Great catch.
    12. Rick S 0
Initially, I thought I hooked a stud bass, but yeah you can tell the difference pretty quick.
    13. danny davila 0
nice cat. I primarily target catfish when i get on the lake. is it noticeable that you've got something other than a bass on the line before you land it?
