1. Back to Eagle Valley Reservoir where Fish and Game planted about 500 Tiger Trout and about the same with rainbows. The Bows were so small they must have stocked ...more too early due to the virus shutdown. From L-R, Tiger, Bow, tiger, bow & bow. Had to keep the small ones as they were bleeding.

No fishing for trout at our local ponds due to so many Cormorants eating all the fish. Hate those dang birds.

      Guess what's for dinner?

  2. No skill involved catching stocked bows. I could go everyday for my limit of 3 but it's best to leave some for others. Boulder Pond, Nevada. (not Colorado) ...more My only complaint is the jerks who C&R at this pond. They don't know how to handle the fish and they die.

Thanks Bryan. Love seeing those browns of yours though.

      Nice catches Thomas! 🎣👍

  3. Went to Duck Creek Village, Utah for two days for the opportunity to fish Panguich Lake. From what I've read this lake has some big fish in it and is pretty ...more well known. Once I got there the news said it was closed to do a toxic algae bloom. That messed up my plans and I ended up catching some stockers out of a local pond instead. Can't win 'em all. Tried Navaho Lake (pictured) but got skunked, which is rare for me. Still had a great time being out there.

I lived mostly around the LA & Orange County boundary! Cities I lived in were Lakewood,Buena Park,Placentia,Huntington Beach, etc! I now live an hour away from ...more Grand Junction,Co

I too grew up in So.California with my father taking me to the Eastern Sierras twice a year. Also have a cabin in Colorado so I had the best of both mountain ranges. ...more Living in Vegas puts me right in between so no complaints. Panquich will have to wait until the weather is cooler.

      Beautiful!!

That sucks but at least you had a good time! I was born in California and my Grandparents would always go to Panguich back in the 60’s-70’s. I now have lived longer ...more in Colorado throughout my life! I do wish I had fished around the Sierras when I was younger!

  4. No large ones but just a good natural high from fishing at a beautiful lake. One Tiger, four Rainbows from Eagle Valley Reservoir in Nevada. Fishing is better ...more than any drug IMO.

      I agree... Very nice haul!!

  5. Fished the somewhat famous section of the South Platte River at Decker's called the Miracle Mile in Colorado. Caught this nice 2+ pound Bow. It's a catch ...more and release only so he lived to see another fly. Got him on a Caddis nymph with a 12" drop from my indicator.

I can see why you say it's a Rainbow. When I caught it, all I saw was brown and round markings, ergo; a Brown. Looking at the picture I see the rainbow stripe ...more so maybe you all are correct. Either way, a fun one to land.

      Nice

😂😂 not a brown, but nice catch

  6. Driving up to the Colorado Rockies next Thursday to enjoy the great outdoors and fish to my hearts content. The photo is an old one taken down at my favorite section ...more of the South Platte River, Buffalo Creek, CO.

      Good luck
  7. Been going back to the pond in Boulder City, Nevada because they put in some larger trout than usual. The limit is only 3 so I go back a few times a week. These ...more are at least enough for a dinner.

      Nice
  8. Fishing pic of Boulder Pond. See below post.

  9. February and March the Urban Ponds are stocked in Las Vegas. That is unless we have a warm winter. This year has been good at Boulder Park Pond in Boulder City, ...more NV. Limit is 3 and are caught within 2 hours max. Lot's of fun and not too many anglers. Mostly small rainbows but got one 13½" fish just under a pound. The cormorants get most of the fish but nothing you can do about that.

At least this is only a 25 minute drive. Never thought I'd do this but it is better than I expected. Beautiful day out today and I'm heading back tomorrow and Monday.

      Still fun

Boulder City is pretty far from Boulder, CO. But they have ponds there and in Denver too. You just have to pretend to be at a real lake. It is very beautiful most ...more of the time. Only got one today until the wind drove me off.
    3. Kenneth Olivo 0
      That sounds like fun tho
    4. Noah Shapiro 0
Oh I thought you meant Boulder Colorado

  10. The ice finally cleared enough to get back to Eagle Valley Reservoir in Nevada. No fish stocks since last summer so we knew it was going to be work. Caught four ...more good size rainbows that had nice pink meat. Must say, they were the best tasting trout we've ever eaten. Now I want to go back but it's freezing over again. Too thin to ice fish. Sorry, no pictures this time.

About

Grew up watching my Dad fish all of California and a good part of Colorado. He taught me how to use a fly rod and my son is now great at it too. ...more Try to fish as often as possible but living in Vegas makes it hard. Not much in the desert except Lake Mead and I don't like Strippers. Trout only for me.
