Hurricane Michael came thru the gulf yesterday at a record pace. Building intensely in a short period of time. We hope it broke up the remaining red tide and moved ...more it out. Here on Sarasota bay the last 30 days have been the best fishing I've seen in 10 yrs. with red tide abundant, if you spent the time to find the pockets of clean water you would find fish but more importantly what you found was an abundance of fish all crammed into these clean water pockets. And boy were they hungry. I am a Catch and release guy. So wasn't concerned about the effects of eating fish from the red tide. Should clarify I have kept the Occasional Red Fish and Gag Grouper.
