  3. With an hour left in the tournament, I decided to fish the Rt. 79 bridge pilings. Drop shotting proved fruitless, so I switched to a football jig. First cast to ...more the third piling, jig dropped right down alongside the piling. As soon as it hit bottom, I watched as my line started moving. Swung hard and set the hook. If I wasn't already anchored, he woulda dragged me around the lake! Fortunately, with me losing my phone earlier in the day, a fellow tournament member came along and kindly helped me get her submitted. I missed taking home the Big Bass award by .5 of an inch. My PB to date, although I have no idea exactly how much she weighed.

Based on the length and girth, I would guess between 4 1/2 and 5 lbs. Really nice fish, Jim!

  4. Second catch of the day,as part of day 2 of a 2-day tournament. I had just released a 15. inch LMB and threw back into the same spot, when this one hit. Unfortunately, ...more while fighting this, my phone fell into the water (Fellow kayaker took the pic for me), and I jumped in after it. Not only did I NOT successfully retrieve it, but my one baitcating combo fell in, too. Couldn't get THAT back, either. :(

  7. Biggest of 3 caught. Caught a smaller one, just one cast before this one, and didn't even know at first, cause I must've landed it on his head. I never saw ...more him react, I just tried starting the retrieve and he began to thrash and jump. This one came off the same spot, next cast.
