I was visiting for vacation so I'm a newbie to Hamlin Lake. I wish I had some good tips to offer for Walleye there, but I've got nothing :( sorry Donald.

  2. Some days on the water are prettier than others ;)

  3. This lake is usually about 3 weeks behind the others regarding the spawn (because it takes a while for its temp to go up due to its size) so I was fishing with a ...more 5" Yum Dinger on a 3/16 shaky jig, slowly in 5-20' feet of water. Didn't get a bite from 7:00am-12:00pm but right at 12:05 the Largemouth started jammin'! In a few spots I caught multiple keepers. Watch your line!

3 lb. 7 oz. 19 in. Largemouth Bass with a 5" Yum Dinger

  4. Shore fishing the weeds

2 lb. 7 oz. Largemouth Bass with a 5" Senko

  5. Texas Rig worked well fishing points in the weeds

4 lb. 9 oz. Largemouth Bass with a 5" Senko Worm (Green Pumpkin w/ Black Flakes)

  6. There is a large tree submerged in the water right across from the boat launch. I cast a little beyond it, let the chatterbait sink, then began to slowly retrieve ...more the lure, but fast enough to allow its noise and action to be attractive. I had 17lb test on my Baitcaster so when he nailed it I snatched him up out of there aggressively so he wouldn't get hung up in the timber. (I've lost my share of lure on that timber).

4 lb. 6 oz. 21 in. Largemouth Bass with a Z-Man Chatterbait w/ Super Fluke Trailer
