1. Tied my PB at 6 pounds. Avenged the two big ones that broke my line and it felt great

6 lb. 21 in. Largemouth Bass with a shallow diving square bill crank bait

    1. Larry Berkovsky 0
      Well done, son.
  2. Anyone got any good tips for hook sets or tips for making sure your line doesn't break on a big fish? Lost a big one this morning because my 17 lb fluorocarbon ...more snapped

    1. Randy Shelley 0
Yep it happens to the best of us go get them tiger
    2. Josh Berkovsky 0
It was 5 months old lol so you're probably right. And I think what caused it to break was I had pressed my thumb down on the spool because it caught me by surprise
    3. Randy Shelley 0
I landed a 40 lbs spoonbill paddlefish last week with 6lb line while fishing for white bass.
I tail hooked it and fought it for 24 mins till it got tired and gave ...more up. You can catch almost anything with the drag set properly and fresh line. If your line is 6 months old replace it!!!
    4. Randy Shelley 0
      Set your drag lighter!!!!

  3. Well guys I'm sad to say I killed a spawning bass. Caught the biggest one I've ever seen and it had inhaled my crankbait. I was inches away from Pulling ...more it in but since I was afraid I was gonna get hooked from the crankbait by the lip I grabbed it by the line instead and the line snapped. Sad day. Fishing struggles. Going back there tomorrow to try to catch another big one

    1. Josh Berkovsky 0
Thanks guys I'll do my best. And I couldn't really grab it by the belly because of the angle I had but I'll remember that in the future
    2. Jimbo Harwood 0
yes it is.. never good, but it happens. lol
    3. Wade Bowles 0
Says a lot that your concerned for the fish. That's bound to happen from time to time.
    4. Shawn Gearinger 0
Hey Josh, just a tip on a big fish, you can belly land them by just slipping your hand under them at the side of the boat and usually they will just lay there. Better ...more than grabbing the line. Just go catch another good one.
    5. Jimbo Harwood 0
Good luck with getting a bigger one.
    6. Jimbo Harwood 0
damn! that is sad. well all you can do is go back and catch one bigger then that one.. there's always one bigger out there, that's why I'm hooked ...more on fishing.

  4. Caught another two pounder with a shallow square bill as well as a small one. Sad to say though that this one had the hook in its stomach with no barb exposed so ...more we had to cut the line and let it go with the hook there

3 lb. 8 oz. 19 in. Largemouth Bass with a wacky worm and squarebill

  5. Thought it was a huge bass on my last cast. Strangely enough it was jumping out of the water like a bass which was what made me think it was. To my disappointment ...more it was a slimeball. Nice fight though

6 lb. 19 in. Channel Catfish with a square bill chartreuse sexy shad shallow diver

    1. Josh Berkovsky 0
It's a man made pond right by lake Houston. I fish it more for bass because there are some big fish in it
  6. Hey guys. So haven't been on in awhile cuz of school and what not but trying to get out there and fish more. In Texas the spawn is coming up and currently in ...more about the pre spawn almost into the spawn. What do you guys recommend looking for? Specifically signs of fish, spots to fish, and lure choices. Thanks!

  7. Forgot to post this a few weeks ago. Jared giving me some winter fishing advice "if u think ur fishing it slow. Fish it slower". sure enough.....

3 lb. Largemouth Bass with a wacky worm

    1. Shawn Gearinger 0

    2. Rich Pardy 0
      Nice one!!
    3. kenny thompson 0
Nice one. True on the slower but I fish different retrieves and speeds and let the fish tell me how they want it.

  8. What r u throwing? Saw this this morning at lake Houston by my house. Not a lot of bass at this part but there were hundreds of minnows in several schools at the ...more top of the water. Wondering what could be down there

    1. Jackson Erdmann 0
Throw a spook or some shallow diving baits or small spinnerbaits
    2. John Morgan 0
water too smooth for spook, I would chunk a crazy shad
    3. Todd Stevens 0
      U two not I two
    4. Todd Stevens 0
I two took the words right out of my mouth. I prefer either a pointer minnow in the small size fish aggressively, as early morning bass have high metabolism. Until ...more the sun comes up a Zara puppy or small spook would be a good choice along with a small Buzzbait or popper. DJ swim jig with tiny fluke trailer or the Zoom original fluke or tiny fluke in white on a small scrounger head
    5. Dug Nevius 0
In this case a flashy jerkbait like a shadow rap by rapala. Maybe a smaller stick bait like a spook Jr on the top.
    6. Jared Berkovsky 0
      *big ez trailer
    7. Jared Berkovsky 0
Strike king hack attack swim jig (white) with a gambler but ez (ghost shad) trailer.
