8 weeks later - out of the cast, wrist is healed, but fractured finger still in a guard. Couldn't take it any more, so went out and fished against the Dr's ...more rec. Had a hard warm rain, muddy water, mid 60's overcast. Targeted newly flooded shore, wood and isolated submerged grass. Key was shallow spawn areas. Worked buzzer fast, recasting several times to same spot. Got 2, missed 4 - hand hurts

South paws rule! Sorry about your pain but it's worth it if you're going fishing!

Thanks! It was the left wrist - unfortunately, I'm left handed!

Welcome back man. Hope it was the left wrist!

First fish of the new year - Woo Hoo! Wish I could say I smoked them yesterday, but I didn't. 3 hours, 2 bites, 2 fish. Very happy though - had years where I ...more go 3-4 weeks before I get my 1st one. Slow rolled in 2-3 fow. Both bites came off wood. 42deg, cloudy, stained and light wind. Thanks to @SSNoah for putting me on the chatter bait - might of struck out entirely with out it! Happy New Year!

#contest2015 lots of great stuff this year: made pro on this app, new bass fishing coach at the university of Montevallo, caught PB spotted bass and carp. However, ...more the highlight of the year for me is getting to go home and fish with my brother and father. As time passes it gets harder for my dad to get out - I know the opportunities are getting fewer, so I cherish each chance I get. Love you Pop!

Hit Stephens park pond a few days ago, low expectations- cold front came thru dumped a lot of rain. Targeted Visible stain line near submerged cover. Cast to stain ...more and burned it out over cover. Best day in months - 6 total, all bigger than what I've been catching lately, 3-4# range. Took some persistence- 5-6 casts to same area sometimes. Went thru several baits before landing on the buzzer.

@SSNoah haven't tried them, but have a friend who swears by them. He also uses them as a follow up bait when he has a fish miss on top water

Nice work. She is long. Ever try a swimsenko? I was introduced this weekend. Caught two Dinka.

Got out before finals. Started working the jig very slow hitting a couple small points and spots where I know the water is a little deeper (3ft instead of 2ft) no ...more takers. Decided to start swimming the jig over isolated submerged grass. Only bite came on 1st cast of doing this. High 50's, overcast, light wind and clear water. Supposed to get into the 70's next couple of days - should be interesting

      Nice fish Pro!

Cool evening, light clouds and wind, clear water. Started with a chartreuse chatter bait and missed one on the 1st cast, got him on the second (very small) and hung ...more up and broke off on the only stump in the lake on the 3rd cast. Switched to the flirt worm. Casting as far as I could to dying submerged grass. Worked it w a small tick of the rod tip trying to stay in the grass. Got 3 - hit on pause

I do the 1/2 oz Zman. If they don't hit the silver chatter tie on a gold, even if it is the same color skirt and trailer! I still love my soft plastics!
    2. SSNoah 0
@stagefight I do the 1/2 oz Zman. Crazy but if they don't hit a silver chatter, tie on a gold chatter...might even be the same colors.
    3. Marcus Lane 0
@SSNoah nice to be out again - going to have to go buy some more chatter baits, that was the only one I had!
    4. SSNoah 0
Man you sound like me finding the only stump and tossing spending 3 bucks a cast! Sounds like a great day! Nice work.

Yesterday- 2nd front came thru, dropped temps and clear sky. Used the finesse worm on a split shot rig. Put the split shot about 18 in above hook. Targeted the first ...more contour change out from where I caught fish the day before. In this case it was the original creek bed. Cast beyond the target and slowly worked it back, trying to keep the weight on the bottom but worm up. Got 2 and lost a nice one

From Wednesday- got out during lunch. In between fronts. 1st dropped about an inch of rain and put a light stain in the water. The rain was warmer than the water ...more temp, so tried an early spring pattern I use on this pond. Used a booyah pond magic buzz bait - going as slow as I could but keep the blades going. Targeted dying grass edges and running it over isolated grass patches. Got 3 - no size tho

Hit Stephens park pond before class this morning. It's been unusually warm the last couple days, but a cold front is about to push through. Water is extremely ...more clear, so I have to be very careful as I approach. Saw tons of fish - but they were sound sensitive. Even a splash 15 feet away would spook them. So cast to far bank and let it sit. After 3 min started to slowly work it back - got 3 that way

Whew - life has caught up w me lately and but a big hold on my fishing habit. Longest stretch (all most 2 months) without fishing in my adult life. Got in the water ...more for a few this weekend - only 1 to show for it - she may be small but I'm thankful I had the opportunity to catch her. Cast to submerged brush and slowly ticked it back - let it fall between ticks. Hit on a pause.
