    Caught at same spot I caught the posted one and then lost my Spro Baby Fat John 50 in a face but about 10 casts with the chatterbait I managed to land this one. ...more All my pics don't want to show it completely even after rotation and cropping but it is only a shade or 2 darker than the other one. Pond is low and has been super chocolate milk all year. Definitely no finesse baits bc visibility is truly zero, anyone else been having super muddy ponds this year?

    The pond is about 4' low and I was standing in what is normally water and I saw a limb sticking out the water and on the 2nd cast to the backside of the stick ...more I saw I spooked one so I decided to keep casting to the backside of it and after 5 casts he inhaled it. Then I couldn't get another bite on the Cajun Spin so I tied on a Spro Baby Fat John 50 in Cell Mate and the 2nd cast with it I got hit like a ton of bricks and I set the hook and then he jumped and the line snapped, now a bass has a $10 crankbait in it's face

    I cast next to a downed tree and he hit it on the fall. The pond I caught it in was a small pond right outside of Franklinton.

    The first and biggest of the 3 I landed, I had one throw the hook at the bank bc I gave her slack when I went to tighten the drag. I know NOOB move.

I didn't even catch anything else after that one, it was rough but I'm glad that I decided to go fishing but these cold fronts with lots of rain has been messing with the bass. I need to go again this weekend since it's prespawn and it's the time to catch the fatties

I'm a 42 yr old Air Force vet with some mental illnesses and I use fishing as a form of therapy. I'm a bank angler, so sometimes I'm limited ...more on where I can get. I'm from a small town in Washington Parish, Louisiana. Which we have a good number of waterways, especially farm ponds, but thanks to people in the past, most landowners deny access since others used to leave a mess or would bring a big crowd and then the owner gets upset and basically bans everyone from fishing. I love to go fishing any chance I get but most of it is in family friends ponds. I'm always on the lookout for a new pond, lake, creek, river to fish in, right now I'm basically down to 2 spots one is small enough to not need a boat but the other is hard to bank fish from n could use a boat to get farther away from bank. If anyone knows of any spots in Washington and Tangipahoia parishes lemme know plz. I suffer from ptsd, social and general anxiety, bipolar 2, and OCD tendencies so I go fishing to clear my head n usually be alone and hope not have any triggers, which I usually don't have any when I go fishing alone. My kids have gotten into fishing now that they are somewhat older so it definitely helps bond with them.

Fishing Favorites

  • Species Largemouth Bass, White Crappie(or called White Perch in my are), Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Red-Breast Sunfish, Pumpkinseed, Reds, Specs, or anything that bites the bait
  • Waterway Bogue Chitto River, a friend's private pond, family friend's abandoned gravel pit, Sunset Point...looking for new locations tho fresh, brackish and also saltwater. I'm going to pull out Google Earth and see if I can find some hidden gems in the middle of the woods.
  • Lure H&H Cajun Spin white grub w/black stripes, crankbaits, chatterbaits, Texas rigged brush hawg, frogs, poppers, whacky rigged Yum Dingers and even Culprit curly tail worms, actually my favorite bait is whatever the fish are biting
