      Rich, Merrill is fickle. My best advice is to learn and listen to your fish finder. They can be from 30-40' and then up against the rocks. Problem in Merrill ...more is the water is gin clear so shallow bass are tough to surprise. Good luck and hope to see you on the water.

      Isaiah, anywhere you can get I guess. I fished from a boat and cast to the shore. Look for access to a point or cove would always be the best plan. Good luck.
