We'll will have ice well in to march
    2. mike joppeck 0
Ya us a board to get on the ice.
    3. Justin Helton 0
Yeah @davidschmitt the ice I think will be most of the way melted cuz a warm front is coming in
    4. David Schmitt 0
I think I missed the part where you said the was melting
    5. David Schmitt 0
I'm my experience bass move very slow and are very picky through the ice I've had luck with minnows live bait may be the way to go also try a teardrop with ...more a wax worm for bluegill
    6. Justin Helton 0
Thx tight lines to u to @amassie
    7. amassie 0
      Good luck!
    8. Justin Helton 0
Cincinnati @amassie fishing isn't the best in Cincinnati ,but I'm hoping this pond will work out
    9. amassie 0
Yeah deeper is good. What part of Ohio do you live in? I have family in Dayton and Springfield
    10. Justin Helton 0
Ok thx for the help @EasyCastin13
    11. Marcus Hernandez 0
Deep will most likely be best just to out it right in their face
    12. Justin Helton 0
I have never heard of fishing topwater in winter, up here in ohio it's been extremely cold so I figured fishing deep was best @EasyCastin13
    13. Justin Helton 0
      I have nc
    14. Marcus Hernandez 0
Many ppl I know fish lipless cranks and buzz baits either really fast or really slow during winter. Slow if for a hunger bite fast for the reaction bites
    15. Justin Helton 0
Ok I will try some football heads with crawfish trailers @EasyCastin13 I was thinking about using sinking lipless cranks and chatterbaits too but I don't know ...more yet
    16. Marcus Hernandez 0
Throw jigs. Any natural color and fish them low and slow
    17. Justin Helton 0
The pond has also been frozen for quite a while and is 15-20 feet deep

    1. Justin Helton 0
Thx @zanehennig i am hoping to catch her this year idk wat to do about the record cuz i don't want to kill it
    2. zane zane 0
15lbs, new state record for Indiana. If you do catch it, please turn it in. The state record here is such a joke, caught in the worst way possible too. Good luck ...more to ya man, I'd throw swims or senkos!
    3. Justin Helton 0
Yeah there is tons of bluegill big ones to @trick
    4. Tim Rick 0
Is there blue gill in the pond? If there is, hook one up with a big slip bobber and let it swim around in deep water. I normally jig for bass but the big ones like ...more bluegills.
    5. Tim Rick 0
      Dynamite!
    6. Justin Helton 0
      Ok thx @wyldechylde77
    7. PKfisherman 0
      Spinnerbaits and jigs
    8. Chuck LaBruna 0
@bassfisher711 I'll show you something. I'll tag you in two blerts of mine shortly...
    9. no_bullcrap_flies 0
Yomomoto laminate senko in red shad, rig texas WITHOUT a weight. Cast it along the bank and let it sink down. When it hits the bottom drag it like you're fishing ...more for flounder. Pisses mama bass OFF!!!
    10. Alex lawyer 0
I have always used a 3/4 oz jig and used it like a crank bait @bassfisher711
    11. Justin Helton 0
Ok thx @wyldechylde77 by huge I ment he has some 10 inchers but I will definitely try that
    12. Chuck LaBruna 0
Especially protecting nests from 'gills. πŸ˜‰
    13. Chuck LaBruna 0
..but even if there are giant bluegills, there most certainly are a bit smaller ones too. 6-7-8" will do it for sure.
    14. Chuck LaBruna 0
@bassfisher711 Big baits for big fish, right? Granted, you won't catch quantity, but that big bass certainly goes after the big 'gills, especially if it's ...more one in distress. Easy meal, bass can't resist
    15. Andrew Delaney 0
      Swim baits
    16. Justin Helton 0
Ok I thought about that the pond is loaded with bluegill you can catch one in 30 seconds, most of the bluegill are huge though with is kind of a problem for bait ...more @wyldechylde77
    17. Chuck LaBruna 0
Does that pond have bluegill in it? If so, if you really want that hog, catch a decent bluegill, hook 'em behind the dorsal fin or the mouth, and lob cast near ...more cover. If he's there, he won't resist πŸ˜‰
    18. Fishing_Maniac 0
I would try and use a frog big bass usually hit on those for me
    19. Justin Helton 0
Thx for the tips the guy caught the 15 pounder on a crawfish lipless crank 2 years ago so it has to be close to 20 pounds now that's my goal for this year is ...more to catch the beast
    20. Glen Barton 0
Texas rigged lizard or berkley havoc wide load

Be sure to support their belly once they get bigger than that, if you don't you could break their jaw and broken jaw = dead fish.
