      It's not so much the fish as it is the lures. It takes a beefy setup to fling a 1/2 lb lure all day without wearing yourself out.

      My primary pike setup is a Musky Innovations Predator Series rod with an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur. I spool up with 80 lb Power Pro and use a 90 lb seven-strand leader ...more and a 150 lb snap.
