  7. Details: Butterfly Peacock Bass with a brine shrimp

the crawfish found his new home. the new hi fin pleco and the peacock wanted in this picture

    1. Jesse w 0
ya, the beta will kill the guppies immediately. get a pleco. I like the chocolate red eye plecos
    2. Sean Wilms 0
sounds good @Kieran_Hanley except the betta is a Japanese fighting fish so it'll kill anything you put with it. Sad for the guppies and platys would be good, ...more might want to consider a small algae eater
    3. Kieran_Hanley 0
I already have the betta and I'm going to cycle the tank w the betta @seaturtles
    4. Kieran_Hanley 0
Yeah I'm thinking of putting 1 female betta and 2 Guppys and a platy. Does that sound good? @seaturtles
    5. Jesse w 0
this is my first tank @seaturtles so I still have a lot to learn. anytime @Kieran_Hanley
    6. Sean Wilms 0
to put in there @Kieran_Hanley but plecos and crawfish are very hardy fish. If you plan on putting in more exotic fish like swordtails and darts you might want to ...more give it some time
    7. Sean Wilms 0
@GotEmCustomBaits sounds like you know what your doing. Treating the tap water to remove chlorine would certainly but a smart thing to do. I forgot to mention that. ...more And I don't know what fish you plan
    8. Kieran_Hanley 0
Ok thanks for the help @GotEmCustomBaits
    9. Jesse w 0
@Kieran_Hanley remember it depends on the fish you add too. some fish are more hardy than others. but I would listen to @seaturtles he probably knows way more than ...more me.
    10. Jesse w 0
I just filled it with tap treated to remove chlorine. threw in 20 feeder guppies, a pleco, and a huge crawfish for a couple days. then started adding fish
    11. Sean Wilms 0
no problem and good luck @Kieran_Hanley
    12. Kieran_Hanley 0
Oh alright makes sense. Thanks man. @seaturtles
    13. Sean Wilms 0
for at least a week or too so add slowly or you risk killing all your fish early and starting over @Kieran_Hanley
    14. Sean Wilms 0
testing kit, much easier to keep track of ammonia levels and nitrites until the levels drop back to zero so you can begin slowly incorporating fish, just note even ...more adding one fish will spike the level
    15. Sean Wilms 0
well fill it with tap water and let your filter cycle that for about a week and then I added about 5 cheap neon tetras to it and let them do their thing for about ...more 2 weeks. I would recommend getting a
    16. Kieran_Hanley 0
I'm getting a 10 gallon tank soon, any tips on cycling it? @seaturtles @GotEmCustomBaits
    17. Sean Wilms 0
and a long nose gar would be awesome, would have to be careful with what you put in with it, gar are aggressive
    18. Sean Wilms 0
well I highly recommend the Bala Sharks. They are very tough but at the same time unaggressive to other fish, very active and mine even feed on the surface which ...more is cool, good tank fillers.
    19. Jesse w 0
I always wanted some bala sharks. this is my first aquarium, I didn't know I was going as exotic as I did lol. I'm debating getting a long nose gar too @seaturtles
    20. Sean Wilms 0
nice man. I have a small 30 gallon with a dinosaur bichir, eclipse catfish, a few bala Sharks and a small pleco but it's nothing compared to your exotic setup
    21. Jesse w 0
they will be going in a 250 gallon in a few months @seaturtles then into a heated tropical pond I'm going to build next year
    22. Sean Wilms 0
that's pretty cool, do you know what your gonna do with the catfish and bass when they get to big?
    23. Jesse w 0
he's pretty feisty. he was in there with a 12" largie for a while. largie ate the other craw but not this one. @seaturtles
    24. Sean Wilms 0
crawfish might eventually be food to that bass
