Well not sure what happened with that last blert. Cool and cloudy today only in the 60s. River was high and moving fast at the spillway today. Fishing in about 4 ...more FOW. third cast out and he nailed it. Was a blast bringing him in in the fast moving waters. Only the second walleye I have ever caught.

Was a blast bringing in with the fast current. Medium retrieval speed. Only the second walleye I've ever caught. Had several other hits but was unable to land them.

    6. JIM BRINKMAN 0
It was redsoccer12 that I saw that blert from @matt. I messaged her a while ago to ask but she hasn't responded yet. Not to be a pain but have you guys gotten ...more anywhere with the activity page problem?

iPhone 5c this is the first time it's happened but I did see another blert with no visible pic from somebody else about a week ago. I'll see if I can find ...more it and give you there name too.
    9. Matt Dobson 0
Hey Jimmy- what type of device are you using?? Not sure why the pic isn't visible. I can't see it.
    10. JIM BRINKMAN 0
It finally showed up in my 2nd blert. Musta been a glitch. Sorry @mullethead.

  3. Details: Smallmouth Bass

Hit the river on my way into work this morning. River is a little high and murky due to recent rains. It was warm and rainy and this little guy was the only thing ...more that hit.

what portion of the miami river do you fish...trying to get some info on other dayton anglers that are targeting smallies
  4. Details: Largemouth Bass

After work today right between the 2 storm fronts. Had a couple really nice hits but this guy was the only one I got to the bank.

  5. Details: Black Crappie

Just found this pic on my wife's phone of me and my son crappie fishing at the club pond. Proud of my little man and live for moments like these.

Canoeing with my awesome wife ( who is 8 months pregnant ) this morning. Didn't do too much fishing was too busy rowing but I did hit this guy right next to ...more a downed tree.

  7. Details: Sauger

Overcast and cool today only getting in the low 60s. I got the river after work again and caught this little guy. I believe it is a sauger due to the spots on its ...more dorsal but it may be a saugeye. I also had a nice sized what appeared to be a pike on the line but I lost him right at the bank.

    1. Chuck LaBruna 0
Upon a closer look, it is NOT a Saugeye but a pure Walleye. I had misjudged the spotting on the dorsal fins, and they are nowhere near as dense or dark as a Saugeye's ...more would be. My bad. It's a Walleye
    2. JIM BRINKMAN 0
Thank you @wyldechylde77. I've been on the internet all evening looking this up and now I too am pretty positive it's a saugeye. Thanks everyone!!! Tite ...more lines
    3. Chuck LaBruna 0
(GEEZ, TYPOS!). Spotting on the fins is Sauger trait. Those two characteristics are classic Saugeye markings to look for 😉
    4. Chuck LaBruna 0
(Whoops) it's neither Sauger nor Walleye, but a Saugeye, which is a hybrid between the two. See the white spot on the bottom tail fin? Walleye trait, and ...more the sporting on the fins is Sauger trait.
    5. Chuck LaBruna 0
That's because it is neither Sauger not Walleye.
    6. JIM BRINKMAN 0
That's what I posted it as but haven't caught enough of either of them to know. Do you generally go by the spots on the dorsal? Sorry to be a bother just ...more trying to learn a bit.
    7. JohnnyCat 0
      Definitely not walleye
    8. JohnnyCat 0
Looks like your getting different opinions. Looks like a sauger to me. I enlarged your pic looks like the markings sauger has.
    9. JIM BRINKMAN 0
Between walleye, sauger, and saugeye I have a heck of a time determining which is which. You very well could be right. Thanks for the input.

I generally do really well there but this year that part of the river had been a lure eater. Snag after snag.

I was there last week after a rain but the water was too fast then. Had to move to my ponds to get action
