    Went fishing on Butternut last Sunday. So much wind but managed to find a few spots . Didn't do so well but had a cool time just being out there

    Struck hard. When I was unhooking fish noticed 6 inch perch in gullet. Also fish is full of musky ( I think ) bites throughout. .

I have lived on Butternut Lake my whole life. I love this lake dearly. Fishing for wallies and smallies is such a treat. Now and then I can hook ...more into some nice jumbo perch. it is a spring-fed lake with beautiful clarity. I can watch smallies make their beds in the spring! I was told that the DNA of the wallies is different than that of the Chain. Maybe that is why they taste soooooo good.
