Hi. My name is Mike and I'm a geologist by profession hence the online handle. I love fishing and have well over forty years of fishing experience ...more in both fresh and saltwater environments. I have fished from Alaska to Baja California, from California to Florida, and from Germany to Kentucky. I have fished with big game tackle in salt water to ultra light in tiny mountain streams. I really enjoy fly fishing especially with flies I have tied myself. I offer you the best of my fly tying efforts and experience in catching fish. Thanks for stopping by. (The profile picture is of an 18" brown trout I caught (and released) in a high Sierra lake on a fly that I tied. (flies for sale at ETSY.com shop= Time Flies).
News flash! I recently retired and moved to a small mountain town near Oroville. I am having a great time exploring the fishing around here since I am relatively new to the area. So far I have fished Lake Almanor and Deer Creek catching rainbow trout on flies and salmon eggs when they don't want the flies. :)
