Free Fishing Hot Spot®
Known as “Old Flat Top,” the rugged base of an abandoned lighthouse remains standing at the south end of Cross Ledge. Several lumps to the east side give up fish. Nice flounder are caught here using simple fishfinder-rigs. On the deeper edges of the channels, 3 ounces of weight or more may be necessary to keep the bait near the bottom. Top and bottom-rigs with minnows and shedder crabs will produce weakfish and flounder. Use dark teasers on overcast days and light colors on bright days. Tautog and black sea bass also frequent the ruins.
