    When your checklist looks like this: Fall in ✅ Lose a nice fish ✅ Get stuck but think it's a fish and set the hook 🤷 ✅ Pink sage gives out and breaks after ...more "hook set" ✅ Change reel to back up rod ✅ Cast again and actually land your trooot! ✅ 10/10 would do it again! 😅 Maybe without breaking my rod this time. Good thing I have the workweek to pace out my breaking and losing of things! 😂

      Dang!! Hate to hear about the sage! When I was there in Wyoming we caught them really good the first day. The next day the lake turned over and it was pea soup.

      Lol no worries Morris! I have heard good things about the San Juan! That is crazy! I definitely shoulda got me a 6wt for this trip. I fished 5wt all weekend, lost ...more some big ones, and broke my pink sage. All worth it though! 😄 And now I'll be more prepared. 💪

      Elisa it is an awesome place and very remote too!if you get down to the Navajo dam in northern NM. San Juan tail waters. It's sick fishing!!! I quit taking ...more pics of 20-22" trout. Started with my 4 weight and had to go to a 6 WT . They were taking almost all my backing on the 4. Did I mention that they were taking size 20-22 zebra and blood midges?

    Stepped in at the top of this good little flow and threw out my Rainbow Rapala Jointed-9 Floating lure. Let that guy float down a little ways until I started the ...more retrieval. Stopping and going. THERE IT IS! This bow hit that lure and I forgot to reset my drag so it was an exciting little fight. No one likes losing a fish after a good fight. Here I am reeling as fast as I can and my line is just screaming at the same time. Finally, I got ‘im in! Wowzers! What a chunk. I have never had the pleasure of seeing such beefy trout.
