Waupaca Chain O' Lakes Fishing Reports

  1. Skinny 19"er in the shallows at last light. My longest Chain bass of the year; too bad she didn't have more girth! Fall is not far off, days are getting ...more shorter and big fish are on the move. This is the most exciting time of the year!

  5. After hours action on the Chain. It's so much nicer not having to deal with all the boat traffic. Just grab a beer, some snacks, and a radio, and enjoy the peace, ...more and the good fishing! Got 3 last night, this one was the largest.

  6. Not a bad "welcome home" present 😂 Decided to fish my home lake this afternoon and was rewarded with my largest bucketmouth of the year so far. I saw ...more her swimming in the shallows near a dock so I paddled off a distance and made a few casts. She found it right away.

  7. Saw 2 bass under the neighbors' dock, weren't interested in minnow/jigs, but took my shiny metal lure hard on the 2nd cast.

  9. Two weeks ago I moved up to my favorite place in the whole world, northern Wisconsin, for the summer. So far the fishing has been really good to me! Tons of 16-18 ...more inch smallies in the river, and one that tied for my PB.

David: Yeah, the Chain has some of the clearest water I've ever fished. The fact that the upper Chain has more boat traffic in the summer than almost any other ...more lake in the area makes summer fishing really tough, even on the smaller lakes. Fortunately there are some really nice fish in there to make up for it when you do get them to bite! These smallies were actually from the Wisconsin River, my last post was in the Chain and Fishidy wouldn't let me change the location for some reason.

Keep the pictures coming. I vacationed in waupaca last year and fished but struggled bringing them into the boat. Had no idea how clear those lakes were. Good ...more luck up north!
