New to the area last fall. New to fishing in general. Any pointers for bass fishing in Lake Prince? I have been going towards the dam and beating up the banks. ...more Have got two fish in the last 4 or 5 trips. Not looking to get into competitive fishing, just to take the kids out and make it fun. If you have any good tips/holes for pan fishing, cat fishing, or striper trolling I would appreciate it too. I like to release bass for the next guy, but take home some of the pan or cat fish.

Thanks Greg. I was using black jigs with a green pumpkin trailer and Carolina rig using a green pumpkin w/flake, purple w/flake worms, and a white shad - still ...more nothing, Ha. I went out a couple days ago and the water was up to 95 ! Fish are still hanging out 15' to 20' (obviously with the temperature going up) . I went out and got some deep diving cranks and am going to try that out this week. I am also going to take some crickets out and see if I can get so pan fish to react. I saw a few schools of smaller fish pop up, deep as well.

Welcome to the area. I have had the most like with dark colored plastics. Pumpkin or black are my go to colors. If your flipping use black and purple skirt with ...more a dark trailer. If you are cranking I use a pearl white. Good luck to you.

I recently bought a fish finder, still learning to use it. I saw most of the fish in Lake Prince are hanging out between 10 and 20 feet. The water varied between ...more 89 and 92 degrees last time I went out. I was dropping lures right in there but couldn't get anything to react. tried some spinners on top for the heck of it and the Gar are still being pests - grabbing them and then chewing through my line.

Lake cahoon and lake Meade are really good for panfish same for bass but it gets fished a whole lot for bass, western branch resevoir is home to some big panfish ...more but you need electronics to find where they are
