  5. Details: Gafftopsail Catfish

Needed a few fish to have enough for dinner the first night, so we picked up a few gaftop on the ICW on shrimp and cut bait. They're fun fighters, and actually ...more quite tasty contrary to their trash fish reputation

Haha that's great! I have had a friend tell me that if you ice em down, the slime will go away

@cowboy713 we found a solution! Put em on a stringer, throw em over the side of the boat, and run about 30 seconds at 30 mph, and the slime is gone!

  6. Details: Gafftopsail Catfish

Needed a few eaters to add to some other fish to make enough for dinner, so we stopped at a spot on the ICW to find some gafftop, and it produced! These are actually ...more very good fish to eat, contrary to their trash fish reputation

  7. Details: Whiting

Some more of the fish we caught on our POC trip; mangroves and drum came off the jetty's, all the whiting came off of the back lakes.

  8. Details: Inshore Slam (trout/flounder/redfish)

Some of the keeper fish we caught down in port o connor earlier this week. Mixed bag of sand trout, whiting, flounder, a redfish and 3 mangrove snapper. The flounder ...more and mangroves were caught in a cut right at the beginning of the jetty's, and the rest of the fish were caught in the back lakes; the red was the only keeper in a school of tailers in a foot of water.

  9. Details: Red (redfish) Drum

  10. Details: Red (redfish) Drum

While chasing after the jacks under the birds, my dad hooked into this MASSIVE bull red. After about a 20 minute fight we were finally able to get it up in the boat. ...more 36 lbs (couldn't get a length on it due to lack of anything long enough to measure it) and one heck of a fighter! We released it and it swam off good in the end.
